There's still time to get your raffle tickets for Coopers Transport Services third annual charity event in memory of Tom Cooper.

Tickets are just £2, and all funds raised go to two lifesaving local charities: East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity and Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

The draw takes place at the charity ball at The Barn on Saturday 24 October 2026. The ball is sold out, but you can still buy raffle tickets and support these amazing causes!

We’ve already shared some of the fantastic prizes up for grabs, from spa days and dining experiences to local attraction tickets, vouchers, and luxury hampers. If you’ve been feeling lucky or want to support these lifesaving causes, now’s the time!

The prizes are sponsored by some fabulous local businesses including:
Imagine Health & Spa Kings Lynn
H2O Vend Ltd
Omya UK

Last year, thanks to this brilliant community, we raised an incredible £10,180. Let’s see if we can beat that this year.

The Cooper family said:
“The atmosphere at The Barn during the charity ball is always simply beautiful, full of laughter, kindness and community spirit. Together we can make a real difference to two incredible charities that save lives every day.”

Get your tickets by calling 01945 880155 or popping into the Coopers Transport Services office at Terrington St John, Wisbech.

Ticket sales close on 24 October so don’t miss out!

For Driver Health Week, we’re sharing the small things you can do to look after yourself while you’re out on the road.

Long days behind the wheel can take their toll on your sleep, energy, physical health and mental wellbeing. Looking after yourself helps you stay alert, feel better and drive safely.

Here are a few simple reminders:

- Get a good night’s sleep before driving and don’t ignore the signs of tiredness. Coffee, loud music and fresh air might help briefly, but they’re no substitute for proper rest.
- Keep drinking water throughout the day and choose healthier meals and snacks where you can.
- Make the most of your breaks by getting out of the cab, stretching your legs and moving around.
- Don’t put off health checks, and speak to your GP if you have concerns about your health, sleep or alertness.
- Driving can sometimes feel lonely or stressful, so stay connected and talk to someone if things are starting to feel difficult.

Your health matters to you, your family and everyone else using the road.

What’s one habit that helps you get through a working day on the road?

Does your security training go the distance?

If you carry dangerous goods, it's a legal requirement that every member of staff involved has training in the security of dangerous goods. That means not just drivers but also warehouse and the transport office.

If you're ticking that box with a "certificate of training" and assuming that's enough, a certificate isn't a qualification. There's no guarantee the content's right, the trainer's qualified, or that anyone actually learned anything.

Our Ofqual regulated Awards in Security of Dangerous Goods are properly assessed qualifications that are recognised by third parties. They're not just a piece of paper.

Level 1 is designed for drivers, warehouse staff and the transport office.

Level 2 is for directors, managers, supervisors and DGSAs who write the policies.

One weak link in your security chain lets the whole lot down. Properly qualified staff means no weak links, and it proves to your clients that their goods are safe with you.

Level 2: 2nd October 2026
