Happy Saturday! The sun is shining and we hope that you're looking forward to a fun-filled bank holiday weekend.

The next instalment in our meet the team series is Vicki, our Training Manager. Vicki is responsible for the day-to-day running of CTS Training. From booking courses, advising customers and organising instructors, Vicki is the go-to person for everything training.

Vicki said: I have worked within the haulage industry and customer service for 20 years doing a wide range of roles from the distribution side through to accounts. I really enjoy my role here at CTS, because it’s very varied and no day is the same. I also love working for a family run business, it’s great to be part of such a supportive team and I’m really looking forward to watching and helping it to grow.
In my spare time I love to visit and experience new places. I also love spending time with my Son, my family and taking my dog Wilfred on nice long walks.

Tachograph requirements are changing from 1 July 2026.

If you are paid to drive an LGV over 2.5 tonnes on international journeys between the UK and the EU, your vehicle must have a smart tachograph 2 fitted.

With the deadline now only weeks away, now is the time to make sure you have the right compliance equipment in place.

Another CTS Compliance Seminar for the books!

We knew it would be hard to top our first compliance seminar but we did. With even more speakers, even more attendees and even more opportunities to learn, share and connect with other professionals in the transport industry.

The event was attended by a wide variety of professionals in the logistics industry, from transport managers and planners to business owners, directors and transport consultants.

JMW Solicitors returned and advised on correct tachograph reporting and drivers hours management.
Another returning guest was the Norfolk Police Commercial Vehicle Unit who delivered a talk on safe loading.
Suzannah from TRS Training shared insights into the value of apprenticeships, including how they can help upskill your staff.

Commenting, Craig Cooper said “It was another fantastic turnout for our latest CTS Compliance Seminar and I’m delighted that at only our second event we can already see them going from strength to strength. We are going to keep growing them with a continued focus on compliance”.

You may have seen that the UK’s terrorism threat level has been raised to 'Severe'.

That means that an attack is considered highly likely.

For us transport operators, nothing changes overnight but it’s a reminder to stay prepared and to make sure that the basics are in place:

- Drivers know what to look out for and are adequately trained in security
- Vehicles are properly equipped
- Policies and procedures are in place and communicated clearly

Lorries are out on the road every day in public spaces where being aware and prepared is key.

This is your reminder to carry out a quick sense check across your fleet this week.
