🇭🇷 Day 2 – EXPLORA II | Beautiful Rovinj, Croatia

What a gorgeous little gem this place is! 💚

We woke up to the beautiful Croatian coastline this morning, and within less than 5 minutes on the tender from EXPLORA II, we were right in the heart of Rovinj. How easy is that!

Rovinj is one of those places that looks like it’s stepped straight off a postcard. Colourful pastel buildings line the waterfront, little fishing boats bob around the harbour, and narrow cobbled streets wind their way up through the old town.

There’s a lovely Italian influence here too, which isn’t surprising given its Venetian history. Think pretty little squares, boutique shops, pavement cafés, gelato stops and restaurants tucked away down tiny streets.

At the top of the old town sits the beautiful Church of St Euphemia, with its impressive bell tower overlooking the terracotta rooftops and sparkling Adriatic Sea.

It’s the sort of place where you don’t really need a plan. Just wander, get a little lost in the backstreets, stop for a coffee or a glass of w**e and soak up the atmosphere.

And the best bit? After exploring, our gorgeous floating home is waiting just offshore, ready for a little more luxury! 🥂

🇮🇹🚢 Well, EXPLORA II… you certainly know how to make a first impression! 🥂

After arriving in Venice, a quick 20 minute transfer to Fusina Port and I was stepping aboard my floating home for the next week!

And WOW… I knew she was going to be special, but she’s even more stunning in real life! 😍

First stop was lunch at the Marketplace (obviously, priorities! 😂) and then time to start exploring this incredible ship.

Then came sail away from Venice… cocktails at the Sky Bar, stunning sunset views and the perfect start to what promises to be an incredible week! 🌅🥂

The attention to detail, the space, the luxury… I think I’m going to settle in just fine!

All in the name of research, of course! 😉🥂

Well, I’ve only gone and done it again! 🎉

I’m absolutely thrilled to have achieved Designer Travel’s highest accolade – the PLATINUM Award for 2026/27 for the 3rd year in a row alongside my Diamond Award!

And even better… I’ve hit it a whole month earlier than last year! Not that I’m competitive or anything! 😂
