'You might also recognise the scenery from the BBC’s Poldark. It’s also a known naturist/nudist beach.'

A beautiful walk on 🌍Earth Day🌍 in Whitley Bay. The North East coastline always presents an ever changing colourful picturesque skyline 🌈

🌍 Earth Day is an annual celebration of the achievements of the environmental movement and raising awareness for ecological sustainability.

🟦 Whitley Bay is one of the 206 British Isles (UK & Ireland) beaches to be awarded the Blue Flag Award 2022 (which had to meet stringent criteria to qualify).

Let us always strive to protect our planet for our current and future generations ❤

📜 It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (r. 1628–1658) to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself.
