Mistress Sea Angling Charters

Mistress Sea Angling Charters Mistress is a Fast Offshore 105 powered by a 420HP FPT Iveco NEF67 Turbo Diesel engine. For our anglers comfort we only sail with a maximum of 8 anglers now.

Giving her a top speed of well over 20 knots, meaning she will cruise comfortably at around 14/15 knots. Therefore we can get to all those fishing marks inshore fast or push offshore if we really need to. Mistress is licensed to carry 10 passengers and 2 crew, allowing us to operate within 60 miles of Whitby, all year round. There is plenty of space onboard Mistress and ample seating is provided f

or our anglers’ comfort whilst cruising. There is a large bait & filleting station fitted which will also hold up to 12 fishing rods. Mistress has been fitted with the latest navigation equipment. She has a fully integrated Furuno/ Maxsea bottom mapping network system. Giving pin-point accuracy when locating wrecks or prominent fish holding features on the many reefs we fish here at Whitby.

We recently had a party of gents charter the boat for the day targeting Giant Atlantic Bluefin Tuna here at Whitby with us on the Mistress.

Its an approximate 8 week migration we see here at Whitby, every year. We've been encountering bluefins for a good number of years, but only recently in the last few years have anglers actively targeted them on a strictly catch and release capacity.

One of the guys Charlie Keyser was into filming everything from the get go.

For his full day of footage he has managed to put this short video together. Charlie definitely has an eye for detail and can put a video together!

Plenty of hook ups every day a few lost in between

My crew have worked their socks off to provide some once in a lifetime experiences. There's been plenty of tuna bought alongside and released upto 112" this last few days.

This is the Land Of Giants!

Loads of pbs, well done lads.

Ill be opening the 2027 calendar this week.

Hi everyone,
Heres a few of the fish we've managed to bring alongside this season already. I hadn't planned on running a charter but,
Im sailing Monday, for 6-7hrs, 630am pick up, returning 130/2pm.
I have a single angler onboard that has been recently cancelled due to weather.
Hes interested in another angler to join us to split the cost of the trip.
Itll be £350, the weather's looking good atm.

We had another fantastic day yesterday on the tuna.

Guy and his pals came and gave it their all, boating 2 fish between them.

The 1st was the smallest we've ever seen or heard of in our area, 89" but as fat as a transit. Alongside in 50 mins.
CEFAS & NEIFCA took it alongside them for tagging, and swam away strong!

The 2nd measured in at 111", the lads got it alongside in 30 mins. Never seen one bought in so fast! Again CEFAS & NEIFCA took it along side for tagging and it went off like shot again.

We had 2 more hookups but they came off.

Its been an absolute pleasure working with the fisheries to help with scientific research for the tuna stock in our area.

A fantastic day in fantastic company. Thanks again lads, see you all next year!

The Bluefin Tuna run is n full swing here at Whitby.

Yesterday Mark booked the boat for himself.

We managed 3 hookups, with us eventually boating the 3rd at a colossal 120" it was as fat as a barrel.
Released just after the photo and swam away strong!

As I said in my last post, its about to go off! Well today it did!

Unlucky for the messers today.

2 hook ups of our northern Buffalo's today.

Unfortunately the hook pulled on the 1st one after 20 mins, the 2nd one we got boatside in a spritely 70 mins.

It measured in at a respectable 105" All onboard were absolutely extatic
Well done Dale, taking the fight to the fish!

The price is £1100. I have been reducing it to £850 if we don't hook up which covers crews wages and expenses as we have been burning a lot of fuel covering a lot of miles.

There have been tuna caught this week from other boats.
We're also seeing increased wildlife activity day by day.
Its about to go off any day.

I do have a reserve list which i will start running down if people don't get back to me and confirm.bookings in the next week or so.

Hi guys,

Heres a good news story!
Im delighted to announce we have been lucky enough to secure a permit for the 2026 Tunny fishery here at Whitby.

Im currently in Glasgow but will be in touch with everyone regarding final deposits in the next day or so.

Ive been quiet as im currently in the process of a mini refit on the boat, making a few mods for the tuna fishery.
We have a fighting chair this year, due to the size of the fish, you die hards can still fight them stand up if you like though!

I look forward to welcoming you aboard this year, in The Land Of The Giants!
