🚢 WE’RE RECRUITING – TRAINEE / APPRENTICE ADMINISTRATOR

We’re looking for someone keen to learn, develop and build a career with us to join our team as a Trainee/Apprentice Business Administrator or Admin Assistant.

No previous experience is necessary — what matters most is a positive attitude, willingness to learn and a good work ethic.

Build 070 this week - Steps have been fitted between decks and work continues on the ramp, bulwarks, foredeck and freeing ports. Screed has been applied in the passenger and storage areas, and wheelhouse fitting continues. In the engine room and bilge/ballast pumping room, installation of plumbing, electrics and platforms is ongoing, and steering gear is being fitted in the steering room. In the crew quarters, work is being done inside deck hatches, along with a range of electrical, plumbing and joinery jobs.

The Fair Isle Ferry and Infrastructure Replacement Project is funded by UK Government, Levelling Up Fund, with a grant of £26.8M and Shetland Islands Council providing £18.6M.

Build 069 this week - The combined anchor windlass and mooring winch has been fitted to the foredeck and work continues on the travel gantry and port funnel. Further welding is being done around lower hull pipework and jobs continue in the wheelhouse and shelter deck. Inside the boat, joinery, electrical and plumbing installations are ongoing.

Build 067 this week - Blocks have been fitted to the travel gantry and exhaust pipes have been installed in the funnel. Life raft cradles are in place on the wheelhouse and insulation is being fitted. Air conditioning components are being installed in the crew quarters and electrical work continues in the engine room.

Build 070 this week - The stern ramp is being fitted and various welding jobs continue around the deck. In the wheelhouse, insulation is being fitted and window surrounds are nearly complete. Work continues in the passenger room, crew accommodation and engine room.
