Wessex School Updates-First Bus Service updates for Contracted School routes in Dorset and surrounding areas operated by First Bus

Due to an operational issue the B2 will be running approximately 45 mins late we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

22/04/2026

Due to the 6A not being able to pass through Netherbury the nearest stop for the 6A will be on the junction of the A3066 Parnham Park this will apply in the afternoon journey too.

Due to a road closure on Dorchester Road the 10A will operate from Weymouth king statue and will be on diversion. The next stop will be Coombe Valley Road, and continue normal route from there.

B5 School Update

Due to a road closure at Hermitage Street in Crewkerne, the B5 will serve Kithill at the later time of 08:00AM. This will be until Friday 17th April inclusive.

All other timings remain the same.

Due to West Allingtom being closed due to roadworks, the A3 service will start at Bridport bus station and operate via South street and onto the A35 and normal route from the London inn. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

B5 schools update 1545pm.

Unfortunately, due to an operational issue with the vehicle while on route to the school the afternoon service will be delayed.

We have a vehicle on route from weymouth but due to heavy traffic at this time of day we anticipate the service to be running at least an hour late.

We have informed the school so students will be aware of the delay.

Sincere apologies for the disruption this afternoon. We will get everyone home as soon as possible.

Schools update

We now have confirmation that Woodroffe school will also be closed tomorrow so the A1, A2 and A3 services will be suspended tomorrow.

School services update.

We have been in contact the with schools this afternoon due to ongoing concerns for the heavy rain forecast overnight.

Both Beaminster and Colfox have now decided that services will be suspended for tomorrow. This mean that the following services will not be running -

B1, B2, B4 and B5.

C1 and C2.

At the moment Woodroffe remains open as planned so we will be out assessing the A1, A2 and A3 tomorrow morning so please check here for updates.

School route update.
A1 will start service at Shaves cross and then continue on normal route. This is due to one stranded vehicle.
All other services are operating normally. Please be aware there is a lot more rain forecast before tomorrow. We will be checking routes tomorrow for flooding and updates will appear here.

Winter weather flooding update.
A1 service will start at Shaves cross and operate via, Tap house farm, Gassons lane, Whitchurch, Berne lane, A35, Catherston Leweston, Wooton Fitzpaine, Monkton Wyld. This is due to stranded vehicles blocking the road.
All other school services are operating normally. Please allow for a bit of late running as there is still a lot of surface water on the roads.
