As many on this group will know, the end of July will see the sad ending of Barry's Coaches.
The announcement from Barry's tells us that it is due to the retirement of key members of the staff.
It will be a very sad day seeing the end of one of Weymouth's two premier coach operators who have served the area for many years.
The 'real thing' may soon be only a memory for many but in miniature the operator will live on through three 1:76 scale models I have just completed for my two sons and my own model collections.
Produced from photos of the real coaches mine will join my own 'local buses & coaches' collection.
I would like to wish the people of Barry's all the very best for their retirement and am pleased I can at least keep the Barry's image 'alive' in miniature.
