I see so many adverts these days encouraging people to become travel agents overnight, and whilst I genuinely support anyone following their dreams, what many people donโt see is the years of hard work, training and experience that go into becoming a travel professional.
Travel isnโt something I just stumbled into. Long before I became self-employed, I invested in myself and my career. I completed a degree in Travel Management, where I learned not only about the travel industry but also business management, finance, marketing, operations and how to successfully run a small business.
I then gained hands-on industry experience, working for Jet2 and learning the operational side of airports and travel. From there, I worked within online travel, business travel and eventually joined Hays Travel, starting in a retail branch before earning the opportunity to run my own self-employed travel business.
This wasnโt an overnight success story. It was years of learning, working my way up and proving myself. I built my business during COVIDโarguably the toughest period the travel industry has ever facedโwhen many of us genuinely wondered if travel would ever recover.
No, I might not have 25 years of experience, but I do have 8 years of real industry knowledge, qualifications and hands-on experience. Most importantly, I have loyal clients who come back year after year and trust me with their holidays, honeymoons, family trips and bucket-list adventures.
When you book with me, youโre not just booking a holiday. Youโre booking with someone who understands the industry, knows how to navigate problems when they arise, and genuinely cares about getting things right.
Iโm proud to be part of Hays Travel, with the security of ABTA protection and the support of the UKโs largest independent travel agent behind me.
Thank you to every customer who has trusted me over the years. Your support means everything โค๏ธ
