FLOATING PONTOON, COAST ROAD
Colchester City Council are planning essential repairs to the decking on the floating pontoon. Some of the tiles have become spongy when walked on, and to ensure safety, the pontoon will be closed at various times during the repair work.
Colchester City Council plan to carry out the repairs week commencing 14th July, during which time the pontoon will be closed to all users.
Work Schedule and Pontoon Closure dates
The works are expected to take up to five days, with closures as follows:
Monday 14th July - 12pm to 4.30pm (access bridge)
Tuesday 15th July - 7.30am to 4.30pm (first 24m of main walkway)
Wednesday 16th July - 7.30am to 12pm (next 12m of main walkway up to crabbing section)
Thursday 17th July - 12.30pm to 4.30pm (first section of crabbing area)
Friday 18th July - 7.30am to 1pm (final section of crabbing area)
Colchester City Council apologise for any inconvenience caused by these repairs and the temporary closure.
