We love when the world's largest yacht race comes to town! Entries are now open for this year's Round the Island Race, taking place on 15 June 2024.

Starting on the Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes at 6am, the fleet race westabout to The Needles, pass St Catherine’s Point, round Bembridge Ledge buoy, and back into the Solent to the finish line at Cowes.

Let the countdown begin! ⛵️⛵️

The 2024 race will start an hour after sunrise at 06:00, so competitors will enjoy a spectacular first leg down to The Needles, together with a welcome early finish back in Cowes.

Entries are flooding in, enter today and be part of the most spectacular yacht race in the UK on Sat 15 June.

⛓ In addition to manufacturing and supplying lifting equipment at Spencer Rigging, we also offer ongoing inspection examinations to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.

👷‍♂️ Our engineers, accredited to LEEA - The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association standards, cover a diverse range of disciplines. From statutory LOLER to ad-hoc examinations, we can assist in inspecting a variety of lifting equipment - accessories, (such as shackles, eyebolts, chains, slings and chain blocks) plus hoists and cranes (overhead, dockside, lorry-mounted, and mobile), and we're among the few in the UK qualified for lifeboat examinations.

⚙️ According to Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER), it's crucial to have equipment that's fit for purpose and undergoes periodic 'thorough examination.' Spencer Rigging not only conducts inspections and certifications but also assists in maintaining records and promptly addressing any defects found.
