Why we exist?

Our story started back in Feb 2008 as a retailer. When one of our founding directors got fed up with UK suppliers with their inconsistent pricing, poor lead times and inherently poor quality products, he took matters in his own hands by establishing a completely new supply chain (from the far-east). He noticed how exorbitant the mark-ups were of some homogeneous products which they had sourced from the Far East, Turkey, Continental Europe etc. We are all for businesses making money and be able to re-invest, develop and grow but on digging deeper we found the comparisons simply didn’t stack up. The prices available in the far-east offered substantial savings. In other words the UK suppliers were fleecing us where they could. It was especially true for companies of our size who bought in bulk (£10-15k at a time).

We set up a distribution arm and started importing containers upon containers of bathroom products such as vanity units, shower enclosures, brass-ware, accessories, sanitary ware and anything under the sun to do with bathrooms. We wanted to specialise in our niche. Our local retailers (within London M25) were quickly reaping the benefits of our low priced but better quality products. As the arbitrage between China and UK disappeared on generic products, the company focused primarily on large retailers via containers only thereby maintaining reasonable margins for bulk-buyers. We also developed a new brand: Desire Bathrooms which offers unique, high quality and problem solving products to the UK bathroom retail industry from our West Bromwich warehouse.
