Welshpool Mid-Wales Airport Welshpool Mid Wales Airport lies in the beautiful Severn valley and is on the edge of some of the most stunning open flying country anywhere in the UK.

Developed from a grass strip in the 1990s, the airport is now a home for numerous business and light aircraft. It is also the base for the The Mid Wales Air Ambulance. Here you can get lessons and gain a licence flying helicopters, fixed wing aircraft and microlights. You could also just come along and watch the comings and goings of a busy general aviation hub. We have a cafe which is open Wednesday to Sunday not Monday and Tuesday serving hot and cold drinks and snacks.

In order to try and encourage some more flying during this fantastic weather, we’ve dropped our AVGAS 100LL price from £2.22 to just £1.89 per litre inc VAT.

Thank you to everyone for bearing with us while the airfield was closed last Monday for essential maintenance, including the renewal of the white and yellow line markings across the airfield.

With the runway markings refreshed, it’s a great time to remind pilots and aircraft owners that we currently have hangarage available at Welshpool Airport.

We offer:

1020m x 18m hard runway
Runway lighting
CAT I licensed aerodrome

Landing fee waived with 50L or more Avgas uplift for SEP aircraft
No landing fees or membership fees for home-based
