🐾 Another fab PUP walk! 🐾

I met up with my friends including besties Travis & Poppy this evening. We tried to get a photo of all three of us, but clearly nobody had time for posing! 😂

Poppy should sleep well tonight after eating LOTS of windfall apples 🍎 — they had a rather strong whiff of c***r! 😂🍺

Fab weekend with Luna at The Heart of Exmoor campsite 🐾🏕️

Super relaxed, loads of space and miles of walks straight from the site onto the moor.

Apart from exploring, Luna made friends with fellow campers who had taken to shouting “SAUSAGE!” every time she went past 🌭.

It had all the things that keep us coming back to a site:
🐾 Dog-friendly
🏕️ Arrive and leave when you like
🥾 Direct access to the moor and loads of walking
🚐 No need to move the van
💷 Just £13 a night for Luna and me

It’s a pop-up site, so it’s only open for a few weeks each year. We’ll be back! ❤️

🔥🚒 Well, THAT was exciting!

Got stuck behind a fire engine last night because they were putting out a wildfire 🔥🌿. Obviously, I had to have a good look because I am very interested in all important emergency services. 👀🐾

I am very community-minded. 😂

Thankfully the firefighters were on it and got the fire under control. ❤️‍🔥🐾

🌲🐾 Luna’s Camper Adventures – Dartmoor, apparently I’m a mountain goat now 🐐

Mum took me camping to Gidleigh Wood Campsite on Dartmoor, where I had a very busy weekend of important dachshund activities.

The schedule was as follows:

🌅 Morning: Walk for miles
😴 Midday: Lie down and recover from my exhausting expedition
🌲 Evening: Walk for miles again
💤 Night: Sleep like I’d just climbed Everest

Most of our walks were through the lovely shady woods, although Mum kept finding rocks for me to climb. Obviously, I climbed them. I am, after all, basically a very small, sausage-shaped mountain goat. 🐐😂

We conquered Gidleigh Tor, explored Scorhill Stone Circle, and I even had a little paddle in the river. 💦

I also made a new friend at the campsite. I’m very good at making friends. 🐶❤️

It’s been a VERY busy couple of weeks! 🐶🚐

I’ve been camping on Bodmin Moor ⛰️, had a lovely trip to the beach 🏖️ and been on LOTS of adventures in the woods 🌳🐾. Plenty of sniffing, exploring and making sure Mum gets her daily exercise! 😂

And it’s hard to believe that it’s now one whole year since I was poorly with IVDD. 💕 Last year I had to have six weeks of strict rest, followed by a very slow and careful programme to build my muscles back up again. It felt like a long road at the time, but look at me now! 🥰

I’ve had the most fabulous year full of walks, camping trips, adventures and generally getting back to doing all the things I love. 🚐🌲🏖️🐾

When Mum has been working, I’ve even had time for some important sunbathing with Percy. ☀️🐶 Obviously, recovery is hungry work, so I’ve also been keeping up with my snack duties. 🦴😂

I’m very proud of how far I’ve come — and I’m looking forward to lots more adventures! ❤️🐾

It was too hot for proper camper adventures this weekend, so Mum said we had to be sensible. That meant super early morning walkies before the sun got too warm. 🌅🐾

We headed to Coombe Hill Woods where I got to see lots of my friends. The best surprise was bumping into one of my friends from PUP - Positively Understanding Pooches 🥰 We recognised each other straight away and celebrated with full throttle zoomies.

Percy joined me in the garden this evening for some pottering, cooling off in the paddling pool and snoozing on the sofa.

The campervan can wait. Even adventure dogs know when to swap mountains for paddling pools… although I expect normal service to resume very soon. 🐶🚐

I’ve visited my old friend Cedric this weekend. Once upon a time, when Cedric was younger, we used to play chase for hours and have the most spectacular rough-and-tumble wrestling matches.

These days, however, Cedric has decided he identifies as a cat. 🐱

It was a beautiful sunny day, with the garden looking glorious, a BBQ sizzling away, and excellent company all round. Naturally, I took my duties very seriously and made sure the sausages were properly tested 🌭

A perfect summer visit with an old friend, plenty of sunshine, and very satisfactory sausage quality control.

Chief Adventure Officer Luna checking in 🐾

Last week I led my Mum to Strumble Head Lighthouse and Garn Fawr. Leadership is a big responsibility, but luckily it comes naturally to me.

At Strumble Head I set a determined pace along the paths, ears flapping majestically in the sea breeze while carrying out essential supervisory duties. Mum kept getting distracted by the views, but I gently encouraged them to stay focused on the expedition.

Then it was time for Garn Fawr. Rocky paths, hills and rugged landscapes were approached with complete confidence. I marched, climbed and inspected everything with the authority of a dachshund who is absolutely certain she knows best.

People often mention my tiny legs. I’m not sure why. I’ve never allowed facts like size or recovery from IVDD interfere with my plans. Mum says hill walking is great physio for me.

Leadership. Determination. Adventure. Another successful day for Team Luna 💛

Last week I explored beautiful Trefin with my Mum, and I think I can safely say it was a very successful adventure. We followed the coastal path with amazing sea views, lots of exciting new smells and plenty of opportunities for little sausage legs to stretch out.

Mum got very excited because we spotted puffins. They were very noisy. I had a quick look, but if I’m being honest, I had much more important things to investigate…

I FOUND A CRAB! 🦀 I was extremely proud of my discovery.

Overall rating: excellent beach, excellent sniffing opportunities, excellent adventure. Want to visit again 🐾💙

Other Trefin highlights are the tea room which serves dog ice-cream and Camping Wild Wales.
