Over the past week, Warrenpoint Harbour welcomed two iconic vessels that brought maritime history to life and attracted thousands of people to the town. The arrival of the historic El Galeón Andalucía and the return of the world-famous paddle steamer Waverley created a real buzz around the waterfront and the whole town, drawing visitors and local residents alike to experience something truly special.

The Galeón Andalucía welcomed members of the public on board during its stay, while Waverley carried around 580 passengers on a memorable evening sailing around the stunning Carlingford Lough and a further 586 the following day.

Together, these visits showcased the unique role the harbour can play in celebrating maritime heritage, supporting tourism and bringing people into Warrenpoint to enjoy everything the town has to offer.

⚓ Warrenpoint Harbour Authority is delighted to welcome the iconic Waverley, the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer, back to Warrenpoint on 23rd and 24th June.

We look forward to seeing this historic vessel return to our harbour and welcoming passengers and visitors alike.

📅 Tuesday 23rd June 🕛 Approximate arrival: 12:00pm – 1:00pm 🚢 Evening cruise departs: 7:00pm ⚓ Returns to Warrenpoint: 10:00pm

📅 Wednesday 24th June 🚢 Cruise departs: 12:00pm ⚓ Returns: 4:00pm

The Waverley is a unique part of maritime heritage and offers a wonderful opportunity to experience a voyage aboard the world's last seagoing paddle steamer.

We look forward to welcoming the Waverley and all her passengers to Warrenpoint Harbour.
