Something a little different today.

Whilst out waiting for the Black Five no. 44871 to come through Humble Lane near Sileby with the Buxton Spa Express in May, a few modern everyday trains went through, so I thought I'd take a few snaps of them.

By chance a "car train" pulled by a Class 66 loco went through so I went with the portrait shot of the cars coming through as an East Midlands train coming through on the northbound fast lane.

Legends of Steam!

Peppercorn Class A1 no. 60163 'Tornado' is seen running non-stop through Burrs Country Park during the Legends of Steam III event at East Lancashire Railway in April.

This weekend and next weekend, the ELR has the honour of hosting The Flying Scotsman again. Unfortunately I can't be there for it this time, but I did get quite a few shots of it recently at the GCRN, but can you ever have enough photos of The Flying Scotsman?

The second shot in this carousel was taken at Asher Lane bridge on the GCRN.

Next Train Arriving.

BR Standard 5mt no. 75069 arrives at platform 3 to collect passengers to head up to Bridgenorth on the Severn Valley Railway. Video recorded during the Spring Steam Gala back in April.

Sunny Standard 2.

British Railways Standard 2MT no. 78019, the sole surviving Standard 2 at GCR heads a passenger train towards Rothley on The Great Central Railway in early April this year.

GWR 0-6-0 no. 4930 'Hagley Hall' passes through Northwood Lane as a sudden downpour occurs during the Friday of the Spring Steam Gala at the Severn Valley Railways. I had unfortunately not set the camera up in the right spot, so this is a crop of the original.
