A community walk is planned for Saturday 17 October around Outwood and Stanley, in memory of 16-year-old Nadia.

The aim is 22,000 steps, a goal she often set herself.

💔 A heartbreaking and tragic loss.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the 16-year-old girl who sadly lost her life following this devastating incident in Wakefield.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected during this incredibly difficult time. 🕊️🙏

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team can sadly confirm a 16-year-old girl has died after being found with serious injuries in Wakefield, last Tuesday.

Officers were called at 8.33pm on Tuesday 29 September to Rooks Nest Road by the ambulance service to reports a 16-year-old girl was found lying in the road close to the bus stop.

The girl was taken to hospital but sadly passed away from her injuries in hospital on Saturday (3 October.)

A full investigation has been ongoing to establish how the girl sustained her injuries.

We now believe she was the victim in a fail to stop road traffic collision.

In the early hours of this morning (5 October) a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
