The quieter months are a great time to build your knowledge and get prepared for the next season.

Our RYA VHF Short Range Certificate is an important step towards staying safe and confident afloat. The SRC is the minimum legal qualification required to operate a marine VHF radio, covering essential procedures including how to make distress, urgency and safety calls in an emergency.

Did you know we run VHF/SRC Marine Radio courses?

A VHF radio can be one of your most important pieces of safety equipment, but only if you know how to use it.

Our VHF/SRC course covers the practical knowledge you need to communicate clearly and confidently on the water.

The course includes:

- Basics of Radio operation
- Frequencies
- Distress
- Emergency and Medical Assistance Procedures
- Making ship to Shore telephone calls
- Digital Selective Calling
- Global Maritime Distress Safety System

This is a useful course for anyone who spends time boating, and a natural next step after completing your PB2.
