✨ THEY’RE BACK! ✨

It’s been a while… but we’re delighted to say that Mary’s Meanders shared Outlander tours are back!

Before the pandemic, our shared tours were a much-loved part of what we did, bringing Outlander fans from all over the world together for a day of stories, locations, laughs and a little bit of Scottish magic.

And now, after a rather long hiatus, you can once again book a seat rather than a whole private tour.

Join a small group of fellow Outlander fans as we head out from Edinburgh to explore some of the locations you’ll recognise as Lallybroch, Fort William, Castle Leoch and Cranesmuir.

And in true Mary’s Meanders style, it’s about much more than simply getting you from one location to the next. You’ll have a dedicated guide AND a professional driver, so your guide is free to spend the journey sharing stories, answering questions and bringing Outlander — and Scotland — to life.

Oh just to add that’s Duke behind me in the video - Baron was feeling camera shy so moved out of shot!

The mountains are calling and I must go.” — John Muir

Today, I decided to listen to that inner voice and head for the hills.

After a busy summer, it felt so good to slow things down — winding along a country road or two with a good friend, the dog, and a tasty picnic. Fresh air, beautiful views and nowhere in particular to rush to. 🍂🐾🥪

I think I might make this an annual tradition: October 1st, a day to escape to the hills and reset before the seasons change.

There’s something about time in the mountains that just replenishes the soul.

Some trips you remember for where you went.

Others, you remember for how they made you feel. 💙

There’s something rather special about spending a few days in Scotland with people who love Outlander just as much as you do.

You arrive as a group of people from different places, each with your own reasons for being here. Then somewhere between the first filming location, the stories, the beautiful Scottish scenery, the shared meals and all the laughter along the way… something changes.

It starts to feel like your own little Outlander family.

That sense of connection is one of our favourite parts of these tours — watching friendships form, hearing the laughter coming from around the table, and seeing people experience places they’ve dreamed about visiting for years.

Yes, you’ll stand where some of your favourite Outlander scenes were filmed. You’ll discover the history behind the story and explore some truly wonderful corners of Scotland.

✨ Mary Queen of Scots Tour ✨

“It’s a trip of a lifetime…” and when you hear those words, you know you have to make sure the tour lives up to expectations!

My guest had waited years to follow in the footsteps of Mary, Queen of Scots, and what an honour it was to be alongside her as we visited so many important places from Mary’s remarkable life.

I started the summer touring with another grandmother and granddaughter, and there’s something so special about that dynamic. It’s such a privilege to be a small part of these shared adventures and the memories made along the way. ❤️

Perhaps next year I’ll be hitting the road with a grandpa and grandchild too… fingers are crossed! 🤞

It was lovely to meet Anton from Keogh Tours Ireland & his guests yesterday. Anton asked us to arrange a kilt workshop for them as a surprise to mark the end of their Ireland & Scotland tour. We hosted it at Midhope Castle which was a homecoming of sorts as they have Fraser ancestry 😉
