Here is another rib repair, the strake and bow moulding where falling off. I removed the bow moulding completely sanded it (which it wasn't before), primed it correctly... cleaned off all old 3mm thick glue coats on all surfaces and re bonded everything back on.

Some more repairs carried out, this xpro had a seam leak was pretty hard to track down but since the strake was already falling off I decided it may be worth fixing it before sticking the strake back on.

Latest retube a Ribcraft rib. Orca by Pennel & Flipo Ibiza blue 828, d-strake, wear patches and lifelines, now back for hull repairs after breaking its mooring and suffering storm damage.

Ribtec 530 retubed, did a few minor gel repairs, removed the A-frame and had Wilkes Engineering & Machinery Ltd repair the snapped leg. so this build consisted of 828 ocean blue tube, 828 artic grey patches, lifelines, D-strake, bow fairlead, rubber moulded handles

Yesterday i handed over my latest retube. a Solent 650 redesigned the tube with seamless cones, no internal seam for more of a sporty/leisure look as apposed to the former workboat, commercial style with square patches, square lifelines, square handles it had I'm very pleased with the result as is the customer

here is my progress on my 5.3 rebuild. As said i designed tube so its not your traditional 5.3 tube slightly wider inside capacity partly due to the taper and also panel shape, tube wise it is almost done few tidy up bits to do, maybe some more wear patches but i quite like the more minimalist look and can always be added later if wanted, then just handles and currently working on a custom bow grp moulding. which might also fit other rib tube designs, but will have to wait and see.

Here is the porters 540 we did a few weeks ago.
We made the tubes with 828 neptune grey and black, webbing lifelines, big d strake and a fairlead.

Not done one of these before but look pretty decent little (ish) ribs,

Its a porters rib, this one is a 2004 540 barracuda originally built at henshaws inflatables, judging by the hin, i was working there at the time but was at the bottom of the promotional ladder doing 47-50hour per week in a small square sanding room, earning £4.30ph. The rib itself reminds me alot of the old south coast rib and like southcoast rib, the tube was dry fitted and only held on by underneath strips, a strip around the transom triangle socket and an internal beam strip, not really the safest build in my opinion but it seems to have lasted so must have been good enough.
