Yacht Master Marine closing out the week by completing a stern thruster repair onboard a Fairline Squadron 58.

The existing stern thruster gear leg had failed and was leaking oil, requiring replacement. We upgraded the unit to the latest compatible gear leg and fitted new 5-blade propellers, replacing the original 4-blade setup to improve performance and reliability.

While onboard, we also completed repairs to the trim tab system and carried out repairs to the Glendinning shore power cable motor.

To finish the package of works, completed the yacht’s annual polish and antifouling, leaving her ready for the season ahead that’s another 50Ft + boat completed.

Another successful fault diagnosis and rectification completed onboard a Fairline Targa 58 Gran Turismo in Port Vauban, Antibes 🇫🇷

The vessel was experiencing intermittent steering faults between manual steering and autopilot operation within the Hypro Marine hydraulic steering system.

After detailed inspection and fault tracing, several issues were identified including:
• Moisture affected electrical connections
• Poorly secured control wiring
• Intermittent solenoid valve connections
• Unsupported cable joints within the steering control circuit

All affected connections were serviced, cleaned, secured and fully tested before carrying out repeated operational testing between autopilot and manual steering modes.

Both steering and autopilot systems now operating correctly and reliably ✔️

Another productive week, supporting Southwest Marine Sales & Services onboard a Princess 50 and Princess 52 carrying out annual maintenance and repair works.

Both vessels are currently ashore undergoing cutless bearing replacement alongside wider servicing and repair works as part of their annual maintenance programme.
