New Jefa rudder bearing installed on Sweden 54 . The old bearing was cut out because of degradation due to copper coat being in contact with the aluminium bearing housing .
Failure to isolate the copper coat from fittings like this can encourage electrolysis especially in less noble metals .
Electrolysis is not an exact science in a complicated vessel like this but there are certain basics that are worth adhering to in order to keep problems to the minimum.

Thruster installed in a Rival 42 for a very happy customer. Secondary bonded with epoxy systems, glass matted inside and out, with eyebrow on leading edge only, to deflect flow away from aft edge when underway . Failure to do this can cause motor to spin unnecessarily leading to premature wear of the gearbox . Especially important in a faster vessel!
