Afternoon everyone...we are updating the daily movements reporting web page..it will now show the last 7 days of data..on reflection it's easier for us to implement it than the mark 1 version and allows us to 'catch up' if for whatever reason we can't do a daily update..I hope HDC is suitably pleased!

Bear with us as the page is updated..the idea being that when you open the web page, the lastest days data is already open..then you can tab along lick an Excel spreadsheet at previous days...its not quite right at the moment so you have to click on the daily tab you want..also the host site has a glitch and I can't update the landing page details but I will when I can..

So the data will roll every 7 days with the exception of the bank holiday tab..which will show the last bank holiday..whenever it was..

Hello everyone, its been a long winter, but we are now back...spring is coming and with it more systems and information.

At the request of HDC we bring you the new daily movements reporting page on the bagby.aero web site.. https://bagby.aero/test-movements-daily-page

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vT6VigM2fQpq9Gq5-c0OCdTsBYdi8cfyluAuF_qX6aSnr8Ag3ACJsqYoKVzHBNlvVdYmVl9LZX4D3aT/pubhtml

There s a new landing page which then allows you to launch a Google web app that shows the details of movements from the previous day.

There are two tabs to the report, one for normal weekdays and one for weekends and bank holidays.

Each page is refreshed when new data for that tab is available, so for example the weekend tab will show sunday's movements until they are replaced by the next saturday's data, then sunday's data.

Data is updated about 10 am on the following day to allow for all 24 hours of each day to be captured.

The system is 'mandraulic' that is requires manual input. This has been done so we can agree the format with HDC and then once agreed an automated system will be brought only in 6 to 8 weeks time.

Any questions please ask.

The issue with streaming live public video from the designated runway cameras has been solved.

A faulty UPS (uninterruptible power supply) caused the main modem to go offline along with the Radacape located at Bagby.

Normal service resumed..

The main datalink for Bagby has been down for sometime. Remote diagnostics to repair it have not worked.

A site visit is planned for this weekend. Hopefully things will be back in action then!

As a result the camera feeds and radar feed at the airfield are out of service.

Just in from the folks at the CAA reference warm weather and home brew navigation equipment!

Using a VFR Moving Map?
Summer is with us and we've had reports of tablets and mobiles overheating in the cockpit and shutting down leading to a rise in Airspace Infringements.

We recommend that you have a back-up plan in place that works for you in case you lose your VFR Moving Map in flight. A second electronic device may succumb to the same failure so here are a few tips:
• Be prepared to orbit/hold in your present position to assess the situation or fly the aeroplane away from controlled airspace before trying any equipment resets.
• Carry a chart that is marked-up with your route.
• Carry a printed PLOG.
• Be aware of turbulence and thermals that add to the challenges of level flight. Are you planning to TAKE 2? Maybe that needs to be increased when possible.

Have your radio set to a relevant ATC frequency and call for navigational assistance if you are unsure of your exact location. ATC is there to help. If in doubt call D&D on 121.500 MHZ (callsign London Centre).
