We’ve been home for a week now and getting back into the swing of ‘normal’ life. It’s been so nice to see family & friends again 🥰 but if we could we’d be off again and already looking at where to go for the odd few days away in the UK 🤩

Andy has been giving Frank a deep clean.. everything had been taken out and freshened up! 💪🤩
It’s amazing how much stuff we packed that didn’t get used 🤦🏼‍♀️ ( better to have than not 🤣)

We had the best time in all the 9 countries we visited and met some lovely people both in person and through social media. Thank you to all our family, friends, colleagues and the motorhome happiness friends for all the support, comments and laughs you’ve given us along the way 🙏💕

We’ve talked to lots of people who say they’d love to do what we did, and always have an a reason why they can’t …there’s only one thing we’d say to them just do it ! Stop dreaming and start living 👌

& for all the other people actually doing it, we wish you all the very best adventures 😍 and look forward to following you on your journeys 🤩

Whilst in Croatia we had a team’s style interview for a site wardens job and got offered the position the same day. Really excited to start our new jobs & on our way home we popped in to meet the team face to face. What a lovely bunch 😁 and looking forward to joining them for the 2026 season!

What a night at this place! 😍😍

We’ll come back to that, we’ll start with the journey home, beautiful start to the day, frosty cold and a wonderful sunrise 🌅!

Arrived at Dieppe for our ferry, easy peasy, van got searched, Andy got frisked 🤣 we expected it, didn’t even look at Bruce, passed us the scanner to confirm he’s with us and looked at his paperwork ✔️

Ferry was a bit choppy the further we got to England 🤢 you know when things start falling off shelves in duty free it’s rough! 🌊

We made it back safe and sound .. pouring with rain.. just wanted to turn around and go back 🥺

We had a 2 hour journey to our camp for night .. M25 .. oh my god don’t get me started.. what a sh*te motorway 🤦🏼‍♀️ just awful! Andy did amazing 🥰🤭

Anyhoo we arrived at this little pub in the middle of nowhere for a stopover. All we wanted was a safe sleep, a hot meal and beers 🤤 but boy did we get more. The landlady, 84 single and ready to mingle. Sheila was a card, ran the place single handed tonight 🤣🤣, there was another couple and us, them staying in the B&B and us in the carpark.. served us fab food and drinks all night & told us so many stories and had us all laughing the night away, what a lovely lady! She’s having her memoirs written and a film made of her life and we cannot wait to watch it 🤔🤭🤩

What an end to our journey noooooo !

Off up the west coast tomorrow 👍 as we can’t bare to bring an end to this magical mystery tour just yet 😩🤭

It’s been a long day driving today, the most we’ve driven for a while. We decided to do the toll roads as knocked a few hours off the journey but was costly at a whopping €90’s out of pocket 🫣 plus a fuel stop and a lunch stop made today a pricy one 💶💶

We made it to camp (free one 🤩) to catch the last bit of sun and had a bracing walk down the river Seine 🥶 We’d forgotten how much we hate the cold… seems an eternity since we were in Spain soaking up the sun ☀️ (only 10 days ago😲)

Got to be up early tomorrow to get to our ferry for 10am, so for the first time this trip we’re setting an alarm ⏰ 🤣

Poor man’s tea of soup and bread tonight 🤣 but on the plus side we’re still in budget for the whole trip 💪

Got a Lidl stop planned en route tomorrow to stock up on wine 🍷 .. need to dump all water in the tank to take the extra weight 🤭

A cold & misty start today but still beautiful 😍

After a lazy start and a little walk we headed off to our next camp a few hours away.

Sunshine awaited us 😁 It’s not a bad stop at all, nothing in the vicinity to walk to but it’s right off the A10 but still in the countryside. It’s got everything you need for around €13 and even has a toilet , shower, WiFi and laundry facilities. 👍

We mainly stopped here as it was en route and had a vets within walking distance. All sorted with Bruce’s worming tablet, paperwork signed etc , in and out within 5 mins 👌

Chilling out tonight before heading to our last stop tomorrow before our ferry home 😢 we’re staying overlooking the River Seine, not finished with a spot of sight seeing yet! 🤩

What a beautiful free aire we have tonight 😍 in a small park. Luckily we missed the rain when we arrived and got chance to have a mooch around.

The village is nestled on the banks of the Charente River, Verteuil-sur-Charente and a is overlooked by a 1000 year old castle. 🏰

There’s only a small handful of shops, a bar & restaurant and seems popular with the English as there’s 3 of us tonight.

I had to pop into what I would call a treasure trove of a gift shop, full of handmade & unusual gifts, couldn’t come out empty handed 🤭

Only here for one night before heading up for our penultimate stop over and vet’s appointment 🐶.

Good job we’re heading home as we’re running short on Yorkshire teabags 😱🤣🤣

We decided to stay another night here to make the most of the sun today and enjoy the park & lake at Etangs de la Blanche.

The lake is so peaceful, beautiful autumnal sunny day but a bit chilly. Snow flurries due tomorrow 😬🌨️ so we’re moving on.

Heading inland towards Poitiers where we are staying in a village on a free aire 🤩

We spotted the Indian restaurant on the way here that delivers! Few and far between in rural France so we’ve decided to treat ourselves and get the full monty for tea tonight 🐷 so excited! 🤩

Got Bruce booked in with a vet for his wormer en route to the ferry. We have had to change plans on the Caen ferry back home as we need to muzzle Bruce all the time when on the ship.. impossible task … good job we read the T&C’s 🤔 So we’re going from Dieppe which is only a 3 hour crossing which I’m so happy about 🤩

Found a great aire for the night €16 all in for 24 hours 👌
Suns still shining so all is good 🌞 & a lovely lake & park to walk through just around the corner.

Are thoughts turned today to home, family and friends, and what a great time of year to return with Christmas around the corner 🎄🎅🏻🧑‍🎄

We’ve given ourselves enough in the budget to have December off before we have to think about jobs for the new year 😬 bills to pay 🫣
Andy’s like nah we can do this for the rest of our lives 🤦🏼‍♀️ but the reality is we can’t unfortunately as it’s to expensive in the UK and cos of bloody Brexit we can only do 90 days in every 180 in the Shengen zone.

Anyway we’ll continue north until the weather runs out, get Bruce booked in at a vets for worming then decide how we’ll return to the UK.

Andy’s ferry…cos why not 🤷‍♀️
I’m like 🤮🤮 FERRY no way 🤦🏼‍♀️
We’ve a few days yet to debate that 💪

I think he forgets we have a budget and that it’s getting close to zero 🙄🤣

3500 miles so far has cost us €1007 in fuel
68 days of food / booze shopping is €1344 🫣 (that bloody cheese is expensive) 🤭
The list goes on 🤣🤣

Tomorrow’s plans undecided as yet so who knows 🤔🤣

It’s coming to the end of our first journey in Europe as we head north through France 🥺tomorrow’s stop near Bordeaux, and we’ve had the experience of a life time and more that we ever expected 🤩

For the first time in our lives we’ve been free, had no daily commitments ( other than to ourselves ) been able to do what we want when we want. Exploring, chilling, sleeping, walking & walking 💪

Looking back (I hate to say that 😢) my highlight was Croatia, after weeks of exploring and adventures we found our down time 🧘🧘‍♀️🏖️ sun, sea & sand and the best sunsets 🤩

Andy’s highlight of this adventure was buying Frank, definitely leaving his job of 20 plus years and setting off!
Zero regrets and for anyone planning an adventure, just do it. Time is precious 🙏

We’ve also realised that you really don’t need much in life other than someone who is as mad as you and that you can tolerate in a confined space on the daily 🤣🤣

For me tho… 👇

Hot showers (we have one in the van but it’s a tad small, mainly for Andy) not much room to swing a cat!

Flushable toilets (ones you don’t have to empty yourself)

Laundry…. We could of bought a bloody washer machine the amount it’s cost us over the last few months 🫣

Having to find the next stop - this can take a while, researching, planning and taking into account types of roads & fuel - we’ve been up mountains in Austria in 1st gear 😬 poor Frank 🤣

Good WiFi - we have a device but found out due to ‘fair usage policy’ it limits us so have to be careful what we use it for and try and find places with free WiFi when we can.

Water.. a commodity you have to think about and use sparingly, finding stops where you can fill up and empty waste. All though in Europe we’ve found very easy to get unlike in the UK.

Bugs.. I’ve never been bitten so much 🤦🏼‍♀️ & so has Bruce .. bloody ticks & mosquitoes are a pain, the price we pay for warmer weather. ☀️

We’ve met some lovely people on our trip, & found Germany to be the most friendliest 😁

We’ve been soooo lucky with the weather & we’re still following the sun and hope to dodge the rain on our way back as much as we can 🤞🏻

I take my hat off to folk out there doing it full time, especially in the UK as it’s not geared up like Europe. Not sure I’m ready for that just yet (Andy would be 🤣) I used to be a boutique hotel kinda gal until I met Andy and discovered the great outdoors.. love it! 😍

And we thank you all for the wonderful support and messages we’ve had on our adventures 🫶

Chilled out day today 😎 late start to the morning. Andy got a little bit tipsy last night, tried pouring me a glass of wine with the cork still in and thought the van was swaying in the wind 🥴 ( I think 68 days in the van with me is getting to him ) 🤣🤣🤣

Went for another woodland walk & got quite a few steps in 🌲💪 shame Bruce seems to be attracting ticks, must be the time of year for the pests! We keep finding the little buggers on him, not attached, just on him 😡 so now I’m obsessed with brushing him and checking him & inside the van after each walk & our beds off limits!

Another pest got me again yesterday 🦟 not had one bite in Spain but now have plenty of bites on the back of my leg now .. bathing in agua de colonia again!

Andy did a spot of fishing 🎣 not had much luck 😬🤭 but all’s well in the world after he cooked salt and pepper chilli chicken and rice 🤣🤤

What a windy night 😱😬 got woke up a few times thinking the van was going to be blown over 🫣🤣 luckily the winds had stopped by the morning and we had a nice scenic drive across the boarder into France 🇫🇷… knew we arrived when we hit our first toll booth 🙄

On route we stopped for some v**e juice…… €42 for 100ml 🫣

We arrived at our woodland camp which we’ll be staying at for a few nights 😁 it’s cheap as chips & you get what you pay for 🤣. But there’s laundry facilities 🥳. There’s not many of us here and we have a nice pitch with electric (sort of as it tripped when we put our heater on 🤦🏼‍♀️) it’s in a nice woodland setting and there seems to be lots of woodland walks around 👍
The shower / toilet block are clean … apart from a few cobwebs above the shower and the big black bug staring at me when I used the loo 🪳🫣 (didn’t look like a cockroach & I wasn’t about to ask it!)

Anyway, I’ll be double checking the loos before I go and maybe use the shower in the van 🤣

We did follow the sun and the weather here is a lot nicer, t-shirt and shorts today and tomorrow promises full sun and 21 degrees 🤩
