When it comes to driver and operator training compliance, delivering training is only part of the picture. Can you prove it happened? (And can you do so easily?)

In the event of an audit or investigation, such as after an incident occurs, you’ll need to present clear evidence that training has been delivered, assessed, and documented correctly.

Typically, at minimum they'll expect to see:

✅ Training records with operator details and training dates
✅ Evidence of Instructor competence and qualification
✅ Assessment results and practical test outcomes
✅ Copies of certificates issued
✅ Refresher training and re-evaluation records
✅ Documentation that demonstrates compliance with company procedures and recognised standards

If you’re still relying on manual reminders, and individual knowledge to manage your forklift operator training - how’s that working out for you?

While it may not be at the level of scribbles and sticky notes, checking and updating a spreadsheet manually also has drawbacks. Do you have a system in place for when you’re off sick, or on holiday? Will someone know what they need to do with your current manual system?

MID Glamorgan FORK Truck Training Ltd is recruiting an Instructor to deliver operator training for materials handling equipment, including counterbalance lift trucks, and reach trucks. There may be an opportunity for conversion training to include other trucks, for the successful candidate.

The role covers various locations, including the Ystrad Mynach training centre and surrounding areas, such as Swansea, Bridgend, Gwent, and mid Glamorgan.

Hours are : Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with the possibility of overtime at weekends and afternoons. (There may also be part-time subcontract opportunities available - please enquire directly.)

A work based pension is included, and a van may be provided when available.
