Tavistock Foodbank is open every Friday from 10.00am to 14.00 pm
How a Foodbank works...
1. Non-perishable food is donated by the public, maybe at a supermarket collection, harvest festival or drop off point across the city.
2. Volunteers collect the food and sort it at the warehouse.
3. Frontline care professionals, including Health Visitors, Social Workers, Connexions staff, CAB advisors, and m
any other organisations, give foodbank vouchers to people in crisis who they are working with.
4. Foodbank vouchers are then exchanged for 3 days of food at the foodbank distribution centre.
5. Foodbank takes time to listen and signpost clients to further support. Tavistock Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust's UK-wide foodbank network. Tavistock Foodbank Registered Charity Number 1198161
