On Saturday, we had the pleasure of meeting the very talented Catherine, accompanied by her two gorgeous companions, Ruby and Coco. ❤️

Catherine very kindly presented us with her beautifully hand-stitched tapestry depicting Railbus W79978 stopped at Blunsdon Station on the Swindon & Cricklade Railway.

She has lovingly created several of these stunning tapestries to help raise funds for heritage railways across the country, and we feel truly honoured that she chose the Swindon & Cricklade Railway to be one of the beneficiaries.

A huge thank you, Catherine, for your incredible craftsmanship, generosity and support—it is very much appreciated. 🚂

Railbus running weekend

We are open this Saturday and Sunday and our historic Railbus will be running.

Come and experience what it was like to travel in the AC Railbus that once ran on the Kemble to Tetbury and Kemble to Cirencester branch lines.

Our cafe, shop and museum will also be open.

Our Railbus W79978 will be running this weekend at Swindon & Cricklade Railway.
Due to the Joys of heritage railways and working with old equipment, we have had to postpone the next stage of the restoration work needed on our railbus W79978 for a while.
The good news is, this means she is still in our running stock and will be out on the public service this weekend at Swindon and Cricklade Railway on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th

W79978 will be in the shed for this event, as there’s plenty of other unique and rare vehicles to ride on! There will be Wickham trollies, tampers, rail maintenance vehicles and so much more!

EXCITING LAST MINUTE NEWS!!
Our Railbus W79978 will be running the passenger service this Saturday June 13th at Swindon & Cricklade Railway during this event!

Our next event is Saturday 13th and 14th June!

For the first time this year we will be showing a selection of short historic railway films in our restored cinema coach at Hayes Knoll station.

Films will run throughout the day.

Catch the train from Blunsdon - Standard Fares apply.

Come and experience a traditional projector cinema in a unique setting and then use your Day Rover Ticket to explore the line.

⭐️We’re in the news again!⭐️

We were on BBC News west this lunchtime and should hopefully be on this evening as well!

Here you can also find the article written that was published today. We’ve been very lucky to have the BBC visit again and to have Jan Fisher come and ride the Railbus like she did back in 1964!

A Gloucestershire woman who used to ride the railbus to school has been able to revisit her journey.

Many thanks to all those who came to see the Railbus yesterday! We had an amazing day with a full bus each trip!

Not only do you help us with the restoration, but you also help Swindon & Cricklade railway and we can’t thank everyone enough for the support!

⭐️THIS SUNDAY⭐️

This Sunday 17th, we’re running Railbus W79978 at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway. We’ll be travelling from Blunsdon at 10:30am until 4:30pm.

Mouldon Hill station will be accessible, we just ask kindly that all passengers stick to the designated paths and don’t proceed beyond the fences. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office at Blunsdon station.

You’ll also find Railbus W79978 merchandise in the shop at Blunsdon for purchase, all earnings and donations go towards the restoration of W79978.
