HGV Tyre Fitter / Wheel Alignment Technician

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic HGV Tyre Fitter / Wheel Alignment Technician to join our growing service team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional environment where safety, quality, and customer service are at the heart of everything we do.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, repairing, and maintaining tyres on heavy goods vehicles, as well as carrying out wheel alignment services to ensure maximum vehicle performance, efficiency, and road safety. Key Responsibilities:

- Remove, fit, and replace tyres on a variety of HGVs safely and efficiently.
- Carry out wheel alignment checks and adjustments to maintain -optimal vehicle handling and tyre performance.
- Inspect tyres for wear, damage, and correct inflation pressures, recommending repairs or replacements where required.
- Diagnose and report issues relating to wheel assemblies, suspension components, and tyre-related systems.
- Maintain workshop equipment, ensuring alignment machinery and tools are calibrated, clean, and in good working order.
- Deliver excellent customer service by clearly explaining work carried out and providing professional recommendations.
- Follow all health and safety procedures while working in a busy workshop environment.
- Handle and move heavy tyres and wheels safely using correct manual handling techniques and equipment.

What We're Looking For:

- Previous experience in tyre fitting, wheel alignment, vehicle maintenance, or a similar mechanical role is desirable.
- Good mechanical aptitude and an interest in commercial vehicles.
- Experience using workshop hand tools and power tools.
- Understanding of tyres, wheel systems, and suspension components would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Job Title: Laser Wheel Alignment Technician (HGV Experience Preferred)

We’re looking for a skilled Laser Wheel Alignment Technician to join our team. You’ll be responsible for delivering accurate wheel alignment using laser equipment, helping keep vehicles safe, stable, and performing to spec. HGV experience is ideal, but we’ll consider strong candidates with relevant alignment and mechanical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform laser wheel alignments for HGV’s, ensuring settings meet manufacturer requirements
Assess vehicle condition and identify issues affecting alignment (suspension, steering, wear, damage)
Carry out basic mechanical checks and adjustments where required
Verify results and produce accurate notes/documentation as needed
Maintain equipment and work areas to a safe and professional standard

Required Skills & Experience
Experience with laser wheel alignment (essential)
Mechanical knowledge (essential) to understand and troubleshoot alignment-related concerns
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspections and adjustments
Good communication skills, including clear customer or internal reporting
A strong commitment to health and safety

Desirable but Not Essential
HGV experience (preferred/ideal)
Roadside assistance experience (bonus)
