Whippet Coaches

Whippet Coaches We run local buses in Cambridgeshire, including the Universal route on behalf of the University.

In 1919 Henry Lee, a bicycle salesman from London, moved to Graveley in Huntingdonshire, bought an American ambulance and made it into the first Whippet coach. After three generations of family ownership the company became part of the Tower Transit Group in November 2014, Tower Transit really helped bring Whippet into the 21st century. Then in 2018 Whippet came under a new ownership, Ascendal Grou

p and they are helping the Whippet business grow even further. When COVID-19 hit the UK, we kept running our services to enable our passengers to get around in the fight against the pandemic, now even more exciting is our new partnership with FLiXBUS UK a long distance passenger service connecting the UK together. Whippet Coaches takes great pride in operating buses and coaches. Our aim is to operate reliable, reasonably priced services driven by friendly drivers. We run local buses (including one of the routes along the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway) and various FLiXBUS services from London Victoria to destinations around the UK. We also provide services to schools and colleges using a variety of vehicles to suit their different requirements. We are interested in partnership working with local authorities, businesses and education establishments to deliver public transport options that help reduce congestion, improve social inclusion and take some of the stress out of the daily commute.
