What a lovely summer we’ve had for our 40th Anniversary year. It started with our 40th Anniversary gala, where we welcomed over 30 craft and charity stalls, a kiddies fair ground, stationary engines, miniature traction steam engines and a large collection of visiting steam locomotives. These were Taw (which is now based at our railway and is a very welcome addition), Aurora and Julianna (both from Moors Valley Railway) and a K-36 from Thames Ditton. Also joining the event was Ivy a small but powerful lister type engine. Post our gala we had more locomotives visit, with Cygnus and Rachael coming along to help celebrate our 40th year. Right at the end of summer we welcomed the return of our second oldest diesel Kestrel. Swanley Park also did a lovely special for us at 1812 night. Our last event for our 40th year will be our diesel gala on 12/13 September. We are now open weekends only over September and in to October (weather and volunteer numbers permitting).
