Lakeside Shopping Centre is celebrating summer in a major way this year with the launch of its new ‘A Proper Day Out’ summer series - with an activity for everyone to take part in.

Blending adventure, relaxation and social fun, Lakeside is inviting visitors to spend the entire day at the centre, with everything from on-the-water activities to beachside play – all alongside its line-up of over 250 brands, restaurants and entertainment.

Lakeside is launching brand new water sports. Whether with your best friend, family or partner, locals can head to Lakeside and try out either paddleboarding, kayaking or rowing boats.

Additionally, the beach is set to return to Lakeside, courtesy of The Destination at Lakeside team!

Complete with soft golden sand, deckchairs and a giant cooldown splash pool, this beach will bring all the seaside vibes without leaving Essex.

Lakeside's Aquapark has also reopened - a giant inflatable obstacle course on the water, perfect for thrill-seekers looking to climb, jump and splash their way through summer.

Finally, from July 30-August 30 on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, visitors can step inside a giant inflatable sphere and take on zorbing on the lake.

Water zorbing is all about balance and a bit of splashy chaos as you walk, roll and wobble your way across the water.

What a brilliant Bank Holiday weekend! ☀️🚣‍♀️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us! It was an absolute pleasure welcoming so many of you onto the beautiful River Stour and Alexandra Lake at Lakeside.

We’d also like to say a big thank you for your patience with our wonderful team, who worked incredibly hard under huge pressure and in some seriously hot weather. You’re amazing! 💛

We’re open for the rest of the week at both The Henny Swan* and Lakeside, before returning to our usual opening days of Thursday to Monday until later in the summer!

Keep your eyes peeled… we’ve got more exciting things coming very soon! 👀✨

*We are closed at The Henny Swan on Wednesday for staff training, but will remain open at Lakeside!
