We’re proud to share our latest vehicle acquisition β€” a classic First bus that has now found a new home with J&M Preservations. 🚌

Our new arrival is Scania single-decker fleet number 65586, registration V586 DVF. This vehicle was previously part of the First fleet and spent its service life operating local routes from its allocated depot, where it would have been a familiar sight to daily passengers. Built during the late 1990s, buses of this type were known for their reliability and formed a key part of many First depots across the UK.

65586 has clearly led a full working life and still retains much of its original First livery, along with a largely complete interior. The destination display currently reading β€œDEPOT” is a nice touch and a reminder of its final movements before withdrawal from service.

This one is especially meaningful to us. It was secured before the recent passing of a family member who had a deep passion for preserving vehicles like this. Being able to carry that forward makes this addition all the more important.

Our plan is to carefully assess its condition and begin preservation work, with the aim of keeping as many original features as possible while returning it to a presentable and historically accurate standard.

πŸ”§ **Workshop Update**
Progress is continuing well on M454 (ex Yellow Buses), which is getting closer and closer to MOT standard. There are just a few jobs left to complete β€” panels to make and secure, finishing off and securing the destination equipment, and fitting the new rear lights that have recently been sourced.

We look forward to sharing more updates on both vehicles as work progresses and ensuring their stories continue to be told for years to come. ❀️

🚍 Exciting News at J&M Preservation! 🚍

We’re delighted to share that J&M Preservation will soon be welcoming another Vehicle into our growing fleet!

This latest acquisition is another big step forward for us as we continue to preserve, restore, and celebrate these fantastic vehicles. We can’t wait to get started and share updates on its journey with you all.

A huge thank you to everyone who supports what we do β€” more details coming very soon, so keep your eyes peeled! πŸ‘€

These Vehicles were purchased Prior to a Loss to the J&M Family and a loss to a friend and a Father as a Suprise But never managed to make it that far before The unforgettable happened.

04/04/2026

After the shocking passing of one of our Directors β€” a Father, a Friend, and a truly valued member of J&M Preservations β€” we felt there was no better way to pay our respects than to continue the work he cared so deeply about.

We know this is exactly what he would have wanted.

Today, the team have been working hard on M454 Dennis Dart (ex Yellow Buses), pushing forward with the restoration and maintenance:

πŸ”§ Repairs carried out:
β€’ Emergency exit window fixed
β€’ Emergency exit door latch repaired
β€’ Marker lights replaced with new units
β€’ Shock absorber assessed β€” further components now required to complete the job
β€’ Front destination screen brackets measured for replacement of the Brightech screens
β€’ Side destination equipment removed in preparation for new Hanover units
β€’ Bus given a quick clean over

It’s been an emotional but productive day. Every bolt turned and every task completed is done in his memory.

We’ll keep going β€” for him. πŸ’›

Huge thanks to RB Commercial for stepping in at short notice to assist J&M Preservations with the recovery of EX FEC 30887 and EX Halton Transport 77 πŸ‘πŸšŒ

Both vehicles were moved professionally and without fuss, and it’s always reassuring to work with a team that understands how much these historic buses mean to us.

The care and attention shown throughout the job was greatly appreciated.

We’re incredibly grateful for the quick response and smooth operation – top service as always from the RB team!

Thank you for your continued support in helping us preserve a little piece of transport history. πŸ™Œ

🚌 T325 APP – MOT Update from J&M Preservation🚌

Good news from the Group today!

After initially failing its MOT due to an imbalance on the rear axle service brakes, T325 APP went back under the spanners for a bit of attention.

Following some careful adjustments and checks to the braking system, we’re pleased to report that she went back through the test β€” and passed her MOT.

βœ… Just goes to show that sometimes it only takes a bit of fine tuning to get these old girls performing exactly as they should.

Another step forward in keeping historic vehicles like T325 APP on the road where they belong.

3 Buses MOT
Now only 6 left to go πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š

🚍 New arrival at J&M Preservations – T125 OAH 🚍
We’re delighted to welcome T125 OAH to the J&M Preservations collection, a bus with a long and varied working life behind her.

New in March 1999, T125 OAH is a Volvo B10BLE with Wright Renown bodywork, originally delivered to Ambassador Travel, where she began service on Norwich Park & Ride duties.

She later moved north, seeing service with Blackburn Transport before joining Transdev Lancashire United as fleet number 205.

In 2017, she was purchased by York Pullman, working local routes and contracts including the York–Tadcaster corridor, along with school services. Most recently, she operated with Dan’s Coach Travel in Suffolk, carrying the registration B21 DCT, before being secured for preservation.

After over two decades of frontline service across several operators and regions, we’re proud to be giving T125 OAH a new chapter in preservation. Plenty more to come on this one, so stay tuned for updates! πŸ‘€πŸ’™
