Hidden Hebrides

Hidden Hebrides Hebridean company offering walking holidays on the world-famous Scottish Islands. πŸ—ΊοΈ Welcome to the Hebridean Walking Holiday Specialists!

We started our company because we know how hard it can be to find your way around the Hebrides. Lewis, Harris, the Uists and Barra are some of the most beautiful islands in the world - but they are not the easiest to explore. How can you find the best places to watch golden eagles or the most likely spots for glimpsing harbour porpoises? Where are the most stunning beaches or the most evocative ab

andoned villages? How do you find the best coastal hikes or the most rewarding mountain ridge walks? Hidden Hebrides is here to help! We are an island based company offering a unique guiding experience in one of the world's most spectacular locations. Our walking holidays and day tours provide a uniquely personal experience of these fascinating islands, allowing you to explore the landscape, culture and wildlife at your own pace. Hidden Hebrides will take you off the beaten track to places you just won't find by yourself. You will discover the real Hebrides – beyond the beaches, tweed and standing stones - with their amazing scenery and multitude of characters, stories, history and legends. With our extensive local knowledge we will help you get the most from your island holiday. Whether you choose one of our specialist walking holidays or a day's customised guided walking, you will encounter spectacular island wildlife, evocative, long abandoned settlements and some of Europe's most stunning landscapes. Our tours are friendly and relaxed, with plenty of time for sight seeing, photographs and getting a feel for a place. Rushing around, after all, is hardly the Hebridean way…. We offer:

6 day walking holidays on the Hebridean islands of Lewis, Harris, the Uists and Barra
Guided walking day tours, from simple coastal strolls to demanding hikes into the heart of the Harris mountains

October's here, the days are getting shorter and moodier and summer is officially over - where did the time go?! Thank you to everyone who made our 2025 season so special, we might be biased but we think we get all the best clients πŸ˜‰

We've had a fantastic time running our walking holidays this summer and can't wait to do the same again next year. Hope to see some of you there!

Both Orkney and Shetland are filled with some of the most spectacular birdlife in the country. We've had some truly memorable wildlife experiences while running our tours to these islands... but the lovable "tammie norries" (puffins) and the incredible diving gannets will always be some of our favourite things to see while out walking!

Yesnaby Castle Sea Stack, in Orkney. ✨

This is just one of many spectacular sea cliff walks on our Orkney holidays. There is SO much to see on the Orkney isles - from stunning coastal views like this, to outstanding archeological sites and a wealth of wildlife. We never get tired of running trips here!

It's a wet and windy Friday here on Lewis, with ferries cancelled and wheelie bins going flying. We're just going to keep on dreaming about sunny summer days like this - walking through machair flowers to the beautiful Eoropie beach! Can we have some June weather already, please? 😎

This time last year we were out exploring the ruggedly beautiful hills of Arran, getting ready for our first tour of the season πŸ”οΈ

Often called "Scotland in Miniature", the Isle of Arran has a bit of everything - from the mountainous north to the lush farmland, rolling hills and coastal hikes of the south. Ancient archeological sites spread throughout make it a fascinatingly diverse island to visit - we're excited to get back out there this summer!

Winter in the Hebrides has been beautiful but chilly. Bring on the spring and some warmer days!

This cliff walk at Mangersta, on the west coast of Lewis, is always one of our favourites and looked particularly impressive with the snow last month. ❄️
