Loch Ryan, with it's sheltered waters, Stranraer is the 'ideal location' for coastal rowing. SkiffieWorlds 2025 was a superb event, sponsored by Lowland Private Hire. The 6 day event was extremely well supported by locals with the volunteers doing a tremendous job. It's a massive boost for our local economy bringing a smile to all of the community... Huge well done to all involved. The best thing being it was a free event for the public to enjoy. ✅👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🛶💓

‼️ Programme Now Online ‼️

The full SkiffieWorlds programme has just gone live on our website, featuring seven days of entertainment.

Highlights include the spectacular all-boat row-in on Sunday 6th July to open the event, live music every evening, Daft Duck Day on Tuesday 8th, and family-friendly activities like circus skills, storytelling, and craft workshops throughout the week.

We are particularly excited about the Wellness Hub, which acknowledges that coastal rowing is as much about mental health and community connection as it is about physical fitness. The activities available there include yoga, sound baths, meditation sessions, creative workshops and even a full moon ceremony.

The on-shore festival programme reflects everything that makes this sport special, from the international friendships forged through shared love of the water to the wellbeing benefits that keep people coming back to rowing.

With just over a week to go, we are so very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to Stranraer.

Family day trip to Ayrshire yesterday... Culzean Castle (inculding a nesting Oystercatcher and Deer Park) plus Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Alloway (plus Burns Monument and Brig o Doon) in glorious weather.

We are delighted to announce that 79 clubs from four continents have registered to take part in Stranraer SkiffieWorlds 2025!

Which means this year's SkiffieWorlds will be the largest gathering of St Ayles coastal rowing boats - ever.

There is LOTS more news to come, but for the time being we simply wanted to say thank you to all the rowers who will be taking part. We are so very much looking forward to welcoming you to Stranraer and Loch Ryan.
