This morning I'll be collecting my van from the garage, it's been a hell of an ordeal over 2 months for the repair after an assessment which told me 2 weeks maximum. I gave them a 50% deposit on the work when they'd had the van only 2 weeks. The rest of the cost is still unknown to me this morning, I've missed out on loads of work because of the restrictions the hire van has left me with so my earning capacity has been affected hugely and because of this I've been accruing more and more debt ontop of what I need to pay for the van whatever that amount may be.

Depending how things go this morning and whether I feel I've been treated fairly, I'll be leaving and publishing a review for any other drivers who also get told that 'this is the best place to take your van with the best prices and service'.

The company I decided to use for my engine replacement (I won't mention the name here although I've a good mind to if there are any more delays) after 3 weeks of waiting and 2 and a half weeks of delays (because the engine dealer had to make the delivery worth their while so waited til they had 7 to deliver to the Midlands) they have sent the wrong engine block. As a result, I'll now have to wait another 2 weeks or so for a new correct engine block to be delivered, then for the labour to be completed before I can go and collect it.

I will be on the road in a Luton van so hopefully able to upkeep my work commitments, but I just want my van back. Have already paid 50% of the extortionate bill, and now they tell me the day before I'm supposed to collect that they have been given the wrong thing and it won't be ready for a while yet until the new correct engine arrives and the parts are fitted to it.

They have assured me however that they are providing a Luton so I can continue to work without restriction of vehicle size and capacity.

I'll be fully available for business, looking to capitalise on as much use of this hire van as possible, as it'll add miles and wear onto their engine and not my own! This is the only positive I have been able to get from the situation!

Well to add to the fun, the large payment I've been chasing from a client will have to be ceased as the company has gone into administration leaving me about £900 out of pocket including the expenses I paid to do the job.

Any courier work you need doing, I'd be happy to help as usual, especially now to help make up for the incompetence of large corporations, where the director will no doubt get away with next to no punishment while we the contractors pick up the pieces and hope our bills will be paid.

Be careful if you're self employed and my advice is check the recent finances of a company before you undertake work.

Was forced to be recovered from Gloucester yesterday after an engine failure.

Reminds me of Star Wars this shot does, Obi Van Kenobi v Mustafar Pint when I get home.

Would rather have had the low ground tbh, anyway, back on the road in my van soon.
