Introducing the Fair Work Agency: The Government’s new employment enforcement body, launched recently as part of the Employment Rights Act.
It combines three existing bodies into one single, more powerful enforcement agency with the authority to:
🔍 Inspect workplaces
🕵️ Investigate employer conduct
💰 Issue penalties for non-compliance
🧑⚖️ Bring tribunal claims on behalf of employees
⚖️ Coordinate with HMRC and Employment Tribunals
The areas it will focus on include minimum wage, holiday pay, sick pay, consultation duties, flexible working and protection from harassment.
