Roaring Meg FC 3-1 The Cat Inn FC
We travelled to biddulph on Sunday to face The Roaring Meg FC. This game always seemed like a big hurdle to over come, as Roaring Meg sit at the top of their league in Coors Division 4.
But the lads will never shy away from a challenge.
We started strong, playing some decent football out from the back. The Cat nearly took the lead, when Cam Tucker hit the inside of the post from a free kick. 5 minutes later The Roaring Meg had a free kick of their own which crept in the right side of the goal. We trail 1-0.
Not long after Andy Ashby picked the ball up on the right hand side, playing a ball down the wing to Paul Preston who played a quality ball to scraggy at the back post to equalise. 1-1
HT 1-1
The second half started off how it ended, very end to end football. The Cat had chances but couldn’t take the lead. Roaring Meg took the lead from a corner to make it 2-1, but they knew they still had a game on their hands.
Pushing for another equaliser The Cat gave away a penalty. Luke Barnett saved the initial penalty but the follow up found it’s way in. Shortly after The Roaring Meg were awarded another penalty, which Number 1 Barnet saved again! Quality from him. The Cat carried on pushing until the final whistle.
FT 3-1
We are out of the Sam Kimberley Trophy. But we couldn’t be prouder of the lads, giving top of the league in the division above a tough game on their own turf, we were so unfortunate. All eyes on the league now to this Sunday.

Luke Barnet
Over recent weeks Barn has been putting plenty of work in to improve his game. It showed off on Sunday. His distribution was great. Pulled off some amazing saves, never mind saving 2 PENALTIES! Well done Barn, the Cat couldn’t be more prouder of you!🧤🐈⬛
