Another wonderful collaboration for Tracing the Rails®!

Chris Kirk recently had the pleasure of meeting the fantastic Rowena Tyler, Arun Valley Line Officer for the Southeast Communities Rail Partnership.

SCRP do brilliant work connecting communities with their local railways, supporting station projects, education, community engagement, walking routes, heritage, tourism and sustainable travel.

We are absolutely delighted that Rowena and SCRP are looking forward to working with us in the future — and we feel exactly the same. We already have some fantastic ideas for Episode 6, as well as ways that Tracing the Rails® can give something back to the community through the partnership.

It is always exciting when railway history, local people and community spirit come together. Another lovely step along the line!

Tracing the Rails Director Chris had a wonderful day at the opening of the Bluebell Railway Museum's new Railway Dog exhibition with the last living railway dog Henry, and his apprentice Bertie. In Tracing the Rails style he made a short film about it which you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TvWXiErqxw&list=PLj7wZKbGIrRXzGeAWA-IVaNy0SAgyQ_RB&index=17

Yes, Mr Pope-Jaimes does all his own stunts, just like Tom Cruise. Team TTR are still itching all over from their mosquito bites after clawing their way through the woods to bring you some narrow guage from the old Southwater brickworks for Episode 5. And then there was the rowing...Thanks to Southwater Watersports Centre for their kindness and generosity.

We were lucky enough to be invited into this rare and special cottage on The Downs Link on Sunday. We'll be sharing the story in Episode 5 - out this summer. Has anyone else stood on the old rail bed and wondered how this house came to have a chopped off corner?
