We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Houses of Parliament with Kevin. Big thanks to him and his team for arranging it and hosting us.
During lunch we were able to discuss our plans for a Heritage Bus Running Day on Sunday 15th November celebrating 80 years of Stevenage New Town.
Quite by chance we happened to sit next to Tom Wren on the return train journey - one of several of our Stevenage Borough Council councillors so far who have pledged to support the event through their local community budgets.

Members today, setting off on a special trip being treated to a Parliamentary tour by our MP, Kevin Bonavia for Stevenage and the villages.

Meanwhile Stevenage Borough Council is treating Stevenage Interchange to a well needed professional scrub and jet wash.

Lanterns Lane is currently closed with heavy traffic building up in the area. We would recommend passengers for Poplars consider using the 390 service stopping at Edmonds Drive and The Coopers Inn bus stops.

Great news for SB7 passengers also 😀. Half-hourly services to resume from 1st November.

Cuts to Great Ashby’s SB7 services reversed 🚌🎉

A big thank you to everyone in Great Ashby who back our campaign to reverse the cuts in the SB7 bus service. Along with your district Cllr’s Vijaiya VJ Poopalasingham for Great Ashby and Laura Gilmour Williams we’ve been pushing Herts County Council and Arriva to change course, and I’m delighted to report that they’ve now confirmed 30min SB7 services will return from 1st November.

I know there’s plenty more to be done to improve bus services across the rest of the constituency though. Frustrating, no solution is yet forthcoming to tackle the reduction in Stagecoach bus services impacting many of our towns and villages in Central Beds.

Rest assured, I’ll be keeping the pressure up on CBC and Stagecoach to continue to look at options, as well as championing greater bus powers for our community like the pilot franchise powers secured for Hertfordshire.

With the £2 bus cap starting from April, it’s clear the Government is recognising the importance of investing in our busses. I’ll be continuing to work with you all to ensure we have the best possible services supporting our communities ✅

Our Annual General Meeting is coming up!

It will be held at the Stevenage Borough Council Offices, on Friday 18th September, from 11am til 1pm.

We will be holding elections for our office holders for the forthcoming year, and then proceed to discuss everything that we’ve been working on over the past year, present happenings, and things to keep our eyes over the coming year!
