While Robot Wars are happening at The Gordon Craig Theatre, there’s a bus war afoot!

From this Monday (01/06), Stagecoach will be competing against Arriva Herts and Essex on the Bus Station to Chells corridor. The route originally intruded as SuperBus in 1971 has remained largely unchanged.

Stagecoach introduces their SB12, running every half an hour in the morning and afternoon peaks, and hourly through the day, running as far as Hudson Road.

Then from 29/06, Arriva will be upping the frequency of their SB1 to every 15 minutes!

However, things appear to be not going too well for Arriva, with one of their newly route branded SB1 buses already having broken down!

Stevenage High Street Works -
Diversions and Temporary Bus Stops.
So after several rounds of consultations, and works at either end of High Street, HCC are finally due to start their 'improvement works' from The Mulberry Tree to The Marquis of Lorne today.
We understand works should progress in phases from North to South keeping the High Street as fully accessible as possible.
However throughout, until works are completed around Christmas, commercial bus services shall be on diversion at all times.
The project team have kindly provided us with the diversion maps they prepared showing the routes and temporary bus stops that will be used - click below to view the pdf.
