I was asked yesterday about our yard bar. Well here is a before and after photo.

The Yard 1 week ago part way being cleared of wagons, bits of track and ballast.

Yesterday, the festival in full swing with 2 marquees, tables and BBQ.

Alot of work goes into these events and it will have to be returned to normal this time next week.

Final day !!!

The weather looks good for the 4th and final day of our 40th Ale Festival. Still lots of beer and cider to be drunk.

Please join me in thanking all the volunteers who give up thier free time to make this event possible. This is a 2 week event for us, setting up and taking down, clearing up.

We hope you have enjoyed Rails and Ales 2026.🍻

Service update - Saturday 29th August 2026

Due to a fault with 33002, we regret to advise that the 1120 Buckfastleigh - Totnes and the 1210 Totnes - Buckfastleigh are cancelled today.

The 1300 Buckfastleigh - Totnes and 1345 Totnes - Buckfastleigh will be worked by W55000, our single carriage diesel unit.

From 1430, services that were planned to be hauled by 33002 will now be hauled by 5526.

We expect 5526 to work all other services on Sunday and Monday, that were originally planned for 33002. 1369 continues to work it’s planned services, meaning you can travel behind both of our steam engines over this weekend!

Update!!!The "Bubble" car will be out for the 1300 off Buckfastleigh and 1345 off Totnes. With 5526 to run the remainder...

Update for diesel fans. The class 33 has been taken out of service.

The 1120 off Buckfastleigh
And 1210 off Totnes
HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Steam services are unaffected
