As we continue progressing the development of our fifth container berth at London Gateway, we are pleased to confirm that the marine piling works have now been completed, marking a significant milestone in the project.

The construction of the new quay wall, including the installation of steel tubular piles, has been a major component of these works. All piles have now been successfully driven, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and support throughout this phase.

Once operational, the new berth will boost the local economy, strengthen supply chain resilience, and increase capacity to accommodate the world’s largest vessels.

We were delighted to host the Mayor of Thurrock, Sue Shinnick, for her annual fundraising event at our London Gateway logistics park for her chosen charity, MCA Trust.

Guests, including many local mayors and councillors, attended to help raise vital funds and awareness. They heard an inspirational speech from the Chairman of the MCA Trust about the amazing work they do within the community, and enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea, before heading out on a tour of our port and logistics park.

At the Port of Southampton, we recently supported the bunkering of the Svitzer Bargate using 100% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) in place of conventional diesel, marking a meaningful step forward in reducing emissions from harbour towage operations.

The emissions savings from this activity form part of the last nautical mile carbon inset credits under our Carbon Inset Programme, enabling cargo owners to actively reduce supply chain emissions at the source.

Our collaboration with Svitzer to expand the use of lower-carbon fuels, could avoid more than 900 metric tonnes of CO₂e annually, creating measurable emissions savings and helping customers to meet their Scope 3 goals.

We have proudly contributed to the creation of Unity Wood, a new eight-hectare woodland in North-West Leicestershire, as part of a landmark collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the National Forest, and other logistics partners.

Unity Wood will feature 13,000 native broadleaf trees, a reflection glade, wetland habitat, and accessible trails, providing a space for nature, recreation and wellbeing, while showcasing what industries can achieve together for the planet.

This initiative is a tangible example of our commitment to responsible business practices and long-term environmental stewardship, aligning with our global goals for sustainability and resilience.
