On Thursday we had the pleasure of attending the British Forces Resettlement Services - BFRS careers fair in Tidworth, Wiltshire.

The BFRS are a fantastic organisation that helps British servicemen and women make the transition out of the forces into meaningful employment. The event was attended by over 800 people who are either thinking about leaving the military, are currently undergoing the transition into civilian life and forces veterans. It was an honour to discuss the careers and support SCPS can offer them.

We can’t wait to attend the next event, Military2Logistics, in Middle Wallop on the 27th of February.

Yesterday was a momentous occasion for London Gateway as Quay Cranes 15 & 16 arrived for Berth 4 after crossing the high seas all the way from China fully built. Due to our expertise and highly skilled employees, SCPS was entrusted with performing the mooring duties as the vessel was secured alongside. With Berth 4 due to open in the coming months there are exciting (and busy!) times ahead. SCPS are excited to share with you all the arrival of the 2 new Ship to Shore Quay Cranes to London Gateway. Built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries, they have been transported from China fully built!

They safely traversed down the River Thames on Sunday 18th February 2024, arriving on site at 15:30, whereby it then took 3 days to safely unsecure and then discharge onto the quay.

With London Gateway being just months away from the grand opening of Berth 4, these new Gantry Cranes are the largest in Europe, with there being another 2 scheduled for delivery in May!

There is lots of new equipment due to be delivered over the coming months and we look forward to sharing new developments with you all, so please look out for regular updates!

Last night, members of our team attended the DP World Charity Quiz raising money for two incredible charities: Little Haves Children’s Hospice and Meningitis Now. The quiz included everything from making gingerbread houses to raffle prizes that ranged from bottles of wine to Playstation 5’s. The main reason for these events is to support the charities and we are proud to continue our support with events like these.

Whilst South Coast Port Services are a standalone company, DPW London Gateway ensure all that are instrumental in their success are included in celebrating each and every milestone. By being one big family, we all work together to achieve targets and provide all customers with the best service.
