RIYADH AIR FREIGHT UPDATE

Saudi Arabia’s aviation authority has extended the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport following attacks over the weekend. A reopening time has not been announced.

Air cargo booked to or from Riyadh may be delayed or require a change of plan. The impact depends on the individual shipment, its carrier and where the cargo currently is.

For shipments handled by ThinkPrime, our team can seek confirmation of the latest status and assess available options for urgent cargo. Please get in touch if your delivery timing is critical.

⚠️🇹🇭 THAILAND LOGISTICS UPDATE

Severe flooding across Bangkok and surrounding areas is affecting air cargo handling and the inland movement of international shipments.

Thai Airways has temporarily suspended the acceptance of inbound and outbound cargo at its Suvarnabhumi operation from 30 September to 6 October.

This is a carrier-specific restriction. Suvarnabhumi Airport remains operational, and it does not mean that all air freight to or from Thailand has stopped.

Flooding is also affecting road access, container movements and rail connectivity between Lat Krabang Inland Container Depot and Laem Chabang Port.

There is currently no reported general closure of Laem Chabang Port. However, ocean shipments may still experience delays before or after the sea journey if containers cannot reach or leave the port as planned.

Customers with cargo moving to or from Thailand should allow additional time and confirm:

• Carrier and terminal acceptance
• Collection and delivery access
• Airport or port cut-off times
• Planned road or rail connections
• Alternative options for time-critical freight

🇨🇳 CHINA SHIPPING UPDATE | GOLDEN WEEK 2026

China’s Golden Week takes place from 1–7 October 2026.

Although major ports do not necessarily close completely, factories and supplier offices may close or operate with reduced teams. Collections, documentation and available freight capacity can also be affected before and after the holiday.

For UK businesses moving Q4 goods from China, the important checks need to happen now:

✓ Confirm your supplier’s closure and reopening dates
✓ Obtain an accurate cargo-ready date
✓ Check your planned departure and cargo cut-off
✓ Discuss alternatives for time-critical shipments

Cargo already in transit can continue moving. The greater risk applies to goods that still need to be produced, collected, documented or delivered to the departure terminal.

China’s key ports remain under pressure following recent typhoon disruption.

Congestion around major gateways including Shanghai and Ningbo is continuing to affect vessel schedules, with potential knock-on delays for shipments moving through the region.
