HMS Ltd have, over the last thirty years, brought together an unrivalled wealth of experience in the refit, restoration, general repair and maintenance of all types of vessel. We recognise the commitment that many boat owners have for their vessels and aim to support them in any way possible so that they may, in turn, gain the best possible experiences from their use and ownership. Boatyards of th

is ilk have almost completely disappeared over the last twenty years. We offer a significant advantage over other marinas and boatyards, simply because all of our works are managed and delivered by our in-house staff team whom, between them, have the necessary disciplines to negate the need to rely on subcontractors. We are able, therefore, to design, project manage and execute anything from the smallest repair to a new build or a complete restoration. Our premises comprise of some 10,000 sq feet of temperature controlled, ventilated undercover shed space, 1000 sq foot chandlery, along with a hardstanding for 100 vessels. We have a Wise hoist, 20 ton crane, which handle all our boat movements and rigging work. Our in-house services include:

John Buckley has announced the strategic relocation of his company Davey & Co to the Southwold boatyard. This move marks a significant step toward greater operational efficiency and long term sustainability. He hopes "The combining of forces will give customers a more streamlined service from under one roof, with the shared expertise and knowledge we believe this move will enhance both businesses". The move is due to happen at the end of May, John and his team are aiming for continuity and reliability throughout the transition period for all trade and private customers.

Hoping to see the sun today! Its been days and days of grey, we've been missing the big blue skies of Suffolk and the pops of colour in and around the boatyard. Spring is just around the corner and we will soon be thinking of summer boating again.

This is Benita the beautiful West Solent One Design. She came to HMS having been out of the water for some time and her planking had opened up. After much work and two sessions in the water her repairs were carried and we were satisfied her hull had taken up and she was ready to paint. Her transformation has been dramatic and she looks absolutely stunning with her shiny blue hull. When the weather is better she will be given a final coat of antifoul and she will be launched ready for the sailing season.

This is the 33ft Silverette Silver Gare (formally known as Silver Charm) she was built by the James A. Silver's yard at Rosneath in 1938. She initially came to HMS for winter storage and a thorough inspection of her condition, this has highlighted the need for some fairly extensive hull repairs and a deck replacement. We will keep you posted on her progress.
