BREXIT - The death of CRAZY4FLAVOUR 😧
In case of some followers who may not have seen the announcement on the web page (18 months ago!), I had to close the business after the remaining stock was sold because the instant huge drop in the UK£ (against the US$) the morning after the referendum added about 20% to the cost of my invoice from J&D's in USA.

The situation was made even worse as J&D's outsourced shipping company made a mess of the Customs Declaration form and I was charged ANOTHER 20% VAT 😡 (although as a "flavoured salt" it should have been VAT-zero) and J&D's said that they could not guarantee the same mistake would not happen again.

I decided that my customers would (understandably) refuse to accept a price hike of almost 59%, and that the business was no longer viable so I let the web site lapse and sold off the remaining stock at my old prices.
If you ever want to see BaconSalt on sale from me again, vote to scrap leaving the EU (if May ever lets us have a voice again) and hope that the currency markets will forgive us the b****y stupid idea that the "UK Party" & friends dumped on us!

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT :-(

Partly due to the dramatic drop in buying power of the UK£ since the "Brexit vote" and partly due to an incompetent shipping company used by J&Ds in USA. I got hit for an over 10% increase in my invoice for my last shipment plus 20% VAT charged by UK Customs as the declaration form was completely messed up.

The Pound does not look like recovering its previous value any time soon and the shippers cannot guarantee to correctly file their customs declaration, so in order to continue in business I'd have to make a massive increase in my prices which I don't think would be viable.

The only stock I have left is just a few Malt-Salt, so my web shop will shortly be closing down. Please PM me if you want some of the last few jars of Malt-Salt - "first come, first served".

I apologise to my customers for this but both problems are obviously beyond my control :-( :-(

I've been a bit remiss - Some more Original arrived (after several hold-ups) but went mostly on outstanding orders, and there's not a lot left now. However there's plenty of just about everything else - Hickory (my fave ;) ), Peppered, Jalapeno, smokey Applewood and Cheddar.

As you can see web site, I'm currently out of stock of the "Original" flavour BaconSalt. Hopefully new supplies will be shipped soon (by FedEx) from the factory in Seattle and available here again.

The first delivery from J&D's arrived a week ago, but were immediately swallowed by orders that customers had been patiently hoping for from several months ago. Most of these have now been fulfilled and another shipment arrived at Heathrow Friday, and should be with me in the nect couple of days. As soon as they are here, I'll be opening up "the shop" online again for new orders :) :)

GOOD NEWS !

J&D's Foods have presumably realised that they would lose their overseas business with the crazy move that would have put the selling price in UK and Europe up by 50% or more,

Now they have moved to a new small warehousing/shipping operation for this side of the business and our shipping costs will come back to around where they were earlier this year.

I have to sort out a few things with the new shippers to make sure deliveries arrive here undamaged and are not delayed by UK Customs slamming VAT on them due to not using "EU product codes" (they are not the same as US ones!), but I'm hoping to open the Crazy4Flavour.co.uk web site for orders again in the next week or two :)
