Swift strikes first ⚡️🏁

Swift (USA), skippered by Greg Leonard, has claimed Monohull Line Honours in the 2026 RORC Cervantes Trophy Race in an elapsed time of 17hrs 32mins 28secs.

First home in the IRC fleet is Venomous (GBR), owned by Graeme Lewis, crossing in 17hrs 54mins 02secs.

Multihull Line Honours goes to Slinky Malinki (GBR), owned by Peter Coote, finishing in 18hrs 51mins 47secs.

The battle for overall and class honours under IRC is still unfolding and will be decided later today.

We have supported “The Bandit” since they first discussed coming to the UK for this event. They have been fully committed to making a positive challenge and so we know how much loosing the rig will hurt them. Always my first question to the person delivering the news is “is everyone okay?” Remarkably no one was injured, even the boat is in good shape. Our thanks goes to the people & ribs that assisted and that got them back to the dock.
Our team has worked endlessly with the boat’s team over the winter preparations and we all are truly gutted for them to have their potential successes denied.
Earlier, I was able to go to Cowes and chat with the senior members of the team and the owner. We are standing by to assist getting the boat sailing again as soon as possible!
