SUNDAY 1st MARCH.

Form today, improved eligibility criteria have come into force for the National Rail 'Disabled Persons Railcard'. 👍

This railcard is one of the few that cannot be purchased at the Ticket Office, but only by post or online due to proof of eligibility being required. Application forms however are available at all staffed National Rail stations.

From today, more people can qualify for a Disabled Persons Railcard and enjoy 1/3 off rail travel across Great Britain!

Fun fact: a Disabled Person’s Railcard doesn’t just save you money, it also gives 1/3 off for one accompanying adult travelling with you.

⚠ REMINDER!

We are advised by South Western Railway, that Car Parking Charges are due to come into force, at both of Netley Station's Customer Car Parks as of SUNDAY 22nd FEBRUARY. 🚗🚈

MANY of our local stations lack level access to one or both platforms. Others include Portchester, Swanwick, Bursledon, Sholing, Bitterne, St.Denys, Botley, Hedge End, Swaythling, Shawford, Millbrook, Redbridge, and Rowlands Castle.

Although this petition by Southampton Itchen MP Darren Paffey is specific to Woolston Station. I would commend all rail users, able-bodied or otherwise. To sign this petition and write to our station's local MP Paul Holmes, or their own where appropriate.

Perhaps if we can get all of our elected representatives onto this case nationally. We can begin to make progress in achieving equal rights for our disabled friends and family members, and maybe some day in the future even ourselves. 👨‍🦽🧑‍🦽‍➡️👨‍🦼👨‍🦼‍➡️

⚠ NETLEY STATION CAR PARK CHARGES. UPDATE 3/2/26.

We are now advised by South Western Railway that Car Parking Charges on railway land, on both The Badgers/Station Road and St.Mary's Road sides of Netley Station (£2 per day). Are now due to come into force on Sunday 22nd February.

We understand that this deferment is due to a delay in upgrading the station's existing Ticket Vending Machine, to sell Car Park Tickets. We will post any additional info as available.👍

MONDAY 2nd FEBRUARY and subsequent dates.

The Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin 'Islandline', once again suffered its perennial problem of flooding through Ryde Tunnel.
