I've just read some of the biggest pile of sh*te I've ever read in my entire life on one of those "parent network" things.
I always think.. if one person is saying it, dozens more are thinking it,.. so I will address it here.
Its in relation to the arson attacks that ended my business a month ago.
The 3 people on this parent network were saying.. "its obviously him, he's done it himself, insurance etc".
Now then.. I actually don't know where to start refuting that.
Firstly, i was in the lake district with my wife when it happened.
Secondly, CCTV shows the arsonist as 5"8 maximum, im about 6"7.
So hopefully those 2 facts alone put to bed that I physically didn't do it.
2nd option is plausible, I guess, it paid somebody else to do it.
So ill mention that.
Firstly.. the van in whiteleas that was also attacked that night ISN'T mine.. I sold it about 9 months ago but the kid didn't remove my phone number.
Therefore obviously i get no insurance money from that van.
Financial aspect, I guess the only reason anyone does an insurance "job".
I eventually got £2700 from Admiral insurance.
After the arson, I spent nearly £1000 on a hire van to cover work already booked the following 2 weeks.
"If" i had done this, im a f***ing idiot.
I could EASILY have sold that van for way more than £2700.
If anyone knows vans and valuation, feel free to check.. 10 plate luton, full MOT, clean, dry box, 225,000 miles. £1500 replacement engine of 95,000 fitted 4 months ago.
But no, ill set f*re to it, and the one i dont own, remove the only method i have of earning money.. in the hope of getting £1000 less than the van was worth..
The gofundme page set up.
Absolutely, utterly amazing... however hopefully obviously, i couldn't have predicted that being set up and people's generosity.
As i say.. hopefully everyone can see how absolutely ludicrous the notion I've done this myself is.
Thanks, Dave
