๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟโ๏ธ๐ธ๐โค๏ธ Wow indeed! 2 days at Oban & the Isle of Mull ๐. White-Tailed Eagles boat photography trip! Well what an exciting and dramatic couple of days Iโve just had! ๐ฅฐ. On Thursday I travelled up to Oban stopping off at the stunningly beautiful St Conanโs Kirk & the Falls of Lora. The weather was lovely โ๏ธ & I took some nice pics (though one of them is brutal, so scroll through and look away if youโre squeamish). I stayed at a gorgeous air b&b overlooking Oban Harbour, which was a real treat for me ๐ฅฐ. Friday morning was an early start to meet up at the Mull ferry terminal with my photography tutor Paul McDougall of Touch the Wild and the other 2 in our group. The weather was perfect for the hour crossing over to Mull and it was beautiful scenery all the way ๐. On Mull we drove round the island looking for wildlife photo opportunities. It was quite quiet but we saw a heard of deer, eagles and lots of atmospheric landscapes โบ๏ธ. Then the rain started! Our 3 hour photography boat trip began at 1pm on the Lady Jayne. I must admit I got scared ๐ฅนand nearly backed out as the weather was getting worse and the boat looked tiny! ๐ซฃPaul & everyone was really encouraging and supportive, and by some miracle they coaxed me on the boat! ๐คฉ๐. I was SO glad they did as it was very exciting with 360 degree dramatic scenery ๐ฆ
๐ณ๐๐. I had waves of panic but was quickly reassured by everyone ๐๐ฅฐ. I actually really enjoyed the experience once I got a grip!
So, the skipper would throw out the fish bait and the White-tailed Eagles would fly over, swoop down and grab their little treat. It was amazing to see and very difficult to photograph, focus and stay still on a moving boat. ๐๐I managed to get a couple images which Iโm really happy with tho (considering Iโve only been learning this hobby for just over a couple of months.)
We all got drenched โ๏ธ by the onset of torrential rain on the way back but in a way it was nice and it felt like a real personal achievement to get through this first photography boat trip. ๐โบ๏ธThank you SO much to Paul & everyone on the Lady Jayne ๐ it was absolutely epic! It was fantastic to experience this and later relax at my air b&b apartment and warm up! ๐ I spent Saturday morning exploring the beautiful town of Oban, and found a fabulous new stockist for my glass. A great excuse to return! Thanks also to Elizabeth, my air b&b host, who was brilliant! My stay at this lovely apartment was absolutely fantastic & I canโt wait to go back next time๐๐.
