We are looking for an individual to carry lock handling tuition for our narrowboat hire fleet in the up-coming season.
Due to the nature of boating the role does require some flexibility as the arrival of our hirers does vary.
The boats leave our base in Bradley, Skipyon on Monday and Friday afternoons and arrive at the lock on Monday evening/Tuesday morning and Friday evening/Saturday morning. Your role is to meet the hirers at Lock 30 in Gargrave at a pre-agreed time and instruct them in the safe usage of the locks to ensure they have a safe and fun holiday. Payment is made per boat instructed.

One of our favourite things about our strategic location of Harrogate is that it is in the epicentre of everything!

Situated just south of the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales for the best walks and pubs, and just north of the wonderful city of Leeds and the fascinating historical York for a spot of shopping and history!

Historically in the East Division of Staincliffe Wapentake in the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is on the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to the south of the Yorkshire Dales.

It is home to the magnificent SKIPTON CASTLE which offers wonderful self-led or led tours. Don’t forget to go on one of the several stunning picturesque walks surrounding the castle and nearby bustling town.

One of our favourite activities apart from their famous market which is on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, is to head up to the narrow boats and enjoy a spot of sailing on the canal with the Snaygill Boats of Skipton

Snaygill Boats of Skipton are looking for a flexible part time boatyard assistant.

Main hours will be Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Mondays, 8.30am - 5.00pm

We require a well presented, good all rounder to help with all aspects of our narrowboat hire business.

The main duties include boat hire 'turn-rounds' and cleaning, boat handling tuition as well as general site maintenance and upkeep.

A good level of fitness and customer service experience preferred but not essential.

No experience necessary as full training is provided, immediate start available to the right applicant.
