Today’s guests are heading west from Skipton towards Gargrave, where they’ll wake tomorrow to birdsong, still waters and peaceful countryside views at the visitor moorings.
From there, the journey continues through the beautiful Bank Newton Locks and on towards the famous “Curley Wurleys” canal bends. Some guests choose to moor beneath the wide Yorkshire skies for the night, while others cruise on to East Marton.
There, they’ll pass under the iconic double-arched bridge, cruise through Barnoldswick (known as Barlick to the locals), before heading through the mile-long Foulridge Tunnel.
And then…they turn around and do it all again in reverse.
That’s the beauty of boating.
The route may be the same, but the journey never feels identical. The light changes, the reflections shift, and the views somehow become completely new all over again.
Curious to follow in their wake?
Our only remaining May availability is 19–24 May for a 3–5 night escape from Skipton through the Yorkshire Dales countryside.
